Ever seen anyone Sinking in the pool?

I know that sounds a little funny but its really very dangerous.There's a lady who wished to learn swimming but only to compete with the others in the club as she was having a feeling of left behind.And with this thought she started swimming.One day she did as the swimming coach guided her.The next day she got into the pool with full confidence that she'll swim across the two different ends.This confidence didn't take long to become over-confidence and she tried goin across.She was in shallow depth but what went wrong nobody knows.......might be a slip or lack of breath..just simply.She shouted for help n help and there was hard splash of water when the coach dived to save her. So as to conclude this incident I would like to ask "do you guys swim safely?" and if any tip that can be helpful for all swimming lovers do drop it here.
