when you travel, try to bring only those light clothing materials and a pair of shoes that would match the clothes that you are bringing. don't forget your toiletries specially your toothbrush. and also, don't forget to bring medicines in case of emergency, your camera, and a lot of cash!

What a great question! I'm going on vacation for 16 days next week and we've been talking about cutting down on our packing. Of course, we say that every time but we still somehow end up packing way too much but on the other hand it would be worse to need something and not have it, right? We're going to Florida, where it's usually warm but now and then it gets cooler so I'll probably take some warmer clothes just in case and for evenings. Actually, since I can't find many summer clothes here in PA yet I'll probably get some shorts and tank tops down there where they always have them on sale. We stay in a condo with a full kitchen and washer and dryer so we don't have to take a change of clothes for everyday. I make a list of all the toiletries and medical supplies I need - prescriptions, band-aids, OTC pain relievers, antacids, hand sanitizer, disinfectant, hair and skin products, antiperspirant, toothpaste and toothbrushes and denture products for myself. I add things to my list which I have saved on my computer whenever I think of something then when I pack I'll print the list off and check things as I go. Even so, I always end up forgetting something...lol! These days the way airlines charge for checked luggage and limit carry-ons it's smart to pack as light as possible. Also, it seems we always have twice as much to take home as we took to begin with.

When I travel I usually do self catering. So I bring my travel cutlery, my plastic plate and my plastic cup. I take a few snacks that are light to carry like rice cakes, tiny pots of fruit jam, health bars and nuts. I take a packet of multi vitamins. I have a travel towel that is really light weight and quick to dry. I take my elastic travel washing line to hang my clothes on and it doesn't need any pegs. I take a small container of travel wash with me. I have to make sure I take enough daily contact lenses for my trip. I like to take my snorkeling mask if I am going to a coral reef. If I go to a tropical beach I take my swimming costume and beach shoes. I take clothes according to the climate I am going to. Sometimes I take my personal stereo with me and so music disks to play on it. I always take a note book and a few pens.
