Hi again, It's comes out of my mind so i want to start this discussion as when you already grow old, i mean as an adult people, do you still celebrating your own birthday? Like arranging the party by your ownself instead of people arranging it for you i see, nowadays there is so many people when they are growing as an adult they rare to make a party to celebrate the birthday, is this happening with you too?

I always celebrate my birthday with family and friends, this year I Am going to be 64 and Im planing a celebration in my home where I will cook the dinner for everyone [ Im a chef by the way] and I just retired so I can now indulge by inviting everyone to my place, in the past I have being lucky to be invited to several parties in the weeks previous to my birthday to celebrate my birthday! Im grateful for that.As I grow older I feel the need to celebrate because every year, every day, every second, is a bonus. I celebrate every day as a new begening and I Am thankful for it.

As my birthday is close to the new year's day, usually we celebrate both at the same time. On years of 5 or 10, as we call it big birthday, i receive presents from my relatives. We usually have a joint family dinner either at home or in the restaurant, so that we have a lot of chats, and what is more to make my over 90 years old mother happy. My sisters and i never forget to celebrate my mother's birthday, actually we take all opportunities to make her happy, and aware of our concern and love to her. To the kids, their birthday is accompanied by toys, books and joys. My grandson is a common focus of our relatives. He enjoys company, and he expresses his feelings with big smiles and nice words. Birthday is one of the chances to express our appreciation to people around.

I am 30, and I have not had a birthday party for almost 26 years as of now.. I have had a cake made for me.. And other small gifts. But to be honest with you, it seems that others don't really remember my birthday.. But yet I remember theirs.. But, I do try to take the time to celebrate my birthday in my own way. And I also do so with my kids..

Yes I do and celebrated mine on February 1st. It was the day of the Super Bowl, but got to go out and have a good time just the same. I took myself to the Olive Garden for my annual birthday dinner, and I went to IHOP that morning for some pancakes. I promised you after that, I didn't eat nothing again for the day. No lie.

Usually, my wife would be the one doing the arrangement for my birthday. And I do the same when it is her turn. I guess as we grow older, we grow out of the need to celebrate a birthday. Instead, we rather spend the day with some friends over a meal just to mark the occassion. No more is there a need for a cake and candles. Even the presents can be dispensed with. A meal with the birthday person and we give that person a treat for that meal and that is it. I guess as we mature with our thinking, the excitement of wanting to celebrate a birthday is not as appealing as when we were younger.

Yeah... I guess interest in certain things dwindle with age. Well, when you do find your partner and settle down, you will also be able to feel the same way I do with my wife.

Of course my friend. I have all the reasons to celebrate my birthday. Each year added to my life is a blessing form the Lord and hence each birthday of mine, my family celebrates it with a big celebration with all my close friends and relatives invited to join us in dinner and fun.

No I dont celeberate my birthday now. Now my two childrens birthday is celeberated. When they were kids we used to celeberate in a grant way and now they are grown up and they celeberate by inviting only their friends and relatives only at home. By cuting a cake and softdrinks. Or sometimes they give treat outside. Not arranging party or any kindof celeberation. Happy mylotting and have a nice day.

My children are 20 and 17 they are not celeberating their birthday in a full form. The treating out is costly they choose only few friends. I prepare some sweet dish and some special cooking on that day. Celeberating my birthday is okay let us see next time to prepare some special on that day that all. Happy mylotting and have a nice day.

Well, I do not really celebrate my birthday when I grow old, perhaps after 20 years old. I just think that birthday is another usual day to me. But there's still this culture in my company, where we'll go out for birthday lunch when there's someone's birthday, and we'll pay for the birthday boy/girl's bill. We'll also buy a cake and celebrate his or her birthday in the afternoon before we leave the office. When I grow up, I actually seldom celebrate any special dates or festivals.

did you treat them all or they treat you? i wonder what makes people seldom to make a birthday party when they are already old though the day also treat like the common day? in fact that it is once a year and it is our celebration day when we are born to this world

Well, I am not celebrating my birthday anymore. As we grow old our preferences changes and either celebrating it, well..just praying for longer life with someone you love. Party is something that's not practical now a days. Just drink a cup of coffee talking with sister or friends will do, this will make me happy.

Yes. I do it by myself. I usually plan it ahead and save money for it. I usually canvass places that is suitable for my friends. I always wanted that somebody would prepare my birthday celebration. It happened one time that my boyfriend bought some food to be cooked and I was the one who cooked food for us and his friends. I was like uhmm contented that for the first time he did this thing for me. How sweet? :)

yes, not because i want to, but because my friends will ask me to treat them if its my birthday. they want to celebrate so to make them happy, i treat them for a dinner or lunch hehe, for me i use birthdays to reunite with old friends, to be updated on what's happening with their lives, and i also attend my friend's birthday party to spend time with them, rekindle old friendships, spend time chatting about anything we missed in their lives.

so if your friend not asking you to treat them then you won't make any celebration party? i think in your birthday they are the happiest people rather than you but it's a party anyway, everyone should be happy have a nice day eabaterina

I still celebrate my birthday. For the last three years on my birthday I have gone out with friends to a restaurant. It is a big party or cake or anything like that. Its just a hang out with my husband and some fridays. As of last year we made it tradition to go to red lobster on my birthday and me to get a lobster. I love lobster but it is sooooooooo expensive that I had to make it special and for my birthday only.
