what do we get from caring about celebrities?

why do we care so much about celebrities? everywhere you look there are more celebrities. television ads, movies, magazines, newspapers, tabloids, and now the internet are filled with products to buy and most of these ads have celebrity images pasted all over them. people buy products they have seen celebrities using. companies even give celebrities free products with this fact in mind.
An average teenager could better recite the personal information of Britney Spears better than they could of the President. But why? why do we care so much about people that we will most likely never meet? why do people keep coming back for more?

I don't care for celebrities, and their fancy lifestyle and all. Worldly things will never be pleasing God. If you adore such celebrities, you will be disobeying the law of God which says ,Thou shalt have no other Gods before me and this is plainly idolatry when you go over gaga with celebrities.
You will never gain anything about it at all. Wasting time, energy, money and all which is all worthless. You should love the Lord your God first in your life.
People idolizing celebrities tend to imitate the life that their idols have. Broken marriages, clothing style, hair style, everything which has nothing to do to improve you life spiritually and grow in your love with God.

you are right. they get so many freebies and what not and probably dont care a whit about the average joe, so why should we waste our energies on them?
someone gave me a bunch of old peoples and while i was flipping through them i was thinking the same thing to my self. who cares what brad and angelina and any other current star are doing?

Hello ankit_620! That's what I don't really understand. I mean, I admit that I was once care and follow one celebrity but then I asked myself, what would I get by following and supporting that person? The celebrity doesn't even know I exist. So now, I stopped caring to celebrities and just watch television just to ease my boredom.

i dont have anything to say on this topic, but i dont care about these celebrities and all and i can just give a suggestion to all of those who are reading these please dont care about them who are they that we should care about them they aren't giving us anything. they do their part and take the money and what we get nothing although we spend more money just for watching them on a big screen what for?????
