When I am doing the housework! I have had a lot of cleaning to do this week and I did all downstairs and it took me ages, I wanted to have music on but with everyone being downstairs watching tv I cannot. Anyway when I had to go and do upstairs I put my music on FULL BLAST of course and I flew through the cleaning, in fact I was almost disappointed when I had finished!! When you are doing jobs or housework does having music on help you get done quicker or do you have to have silence to do it?

I know full blast fast music will get me speeding tickets and I agree, good music makes housework much more bearable and the cleaning goes faster. Disappointed to be finished -- now that is an overstatement.

I've had those days lol! It would have to be cleaning the upstairs rooms. This includes kitchen (dishes, sweep and mop) dining room (wipe table, vacuum) and living room (Windex tables, vacuum). If you can't tell, the house is really an open design, so I can turn on the stereo in the living room, and get all these tasks done in no time flat. And don't let me be in the house by myself and get to singing!!!

Music helps me do tasks quicker in general. I remember a long time ago, I used to get scolded for listening to music while doing homework. "But it helps me concentrate!" is always my reply, but it never worked. : D When there's no music, I always feel it's "too quiet", so I work slower. Talking is a different thing though. When someone is shouting, it also slows down my work. Loud sounds bother me in general, so I never get much work done whenever there's something loud going on. I set my music on semi-low, loud enough that I can hear it, quiet enough that no one farther than five feet can hear it. (I use headphones by the way.)

If I am on the computer I cannot listen to music as it totally distracts me as I listen to the words of the song. I used to use headphones but I have gone partially deaf in one ear because of it so I have stopped!

I am like you, I find that if I listen to music while I work, I get a lot more done. I know that for me when I have music playing, it's not so much work as it is cleaning while I dance,LOL. Hey my moto is anything that helps to get the cleaning done faster, is okay by me,LOL. I think that there is something about listening to our favorite tunes that also helps to improve our moods, I am sure that it has a lot to do with what kinds of music we listen to as well, if something slow is playing, I always change the song.

Yes it does improve a mood, often if I am feeling narky I will play my favourite songs. I cannot stand slow sad stuff though.

I like to have music on, but I never notice whether or not it makes me go any faster. Maybe it's just that the time passes faster because your mind is on the song and not on the cleaning!

hello gemini_rose i hear ya about having to have music on like that to get the housework finished lots faster. i always listen to some kind of music when that i am cleaning up the house. my hubby is the same way, when he goes to clean up the garage or something like that, he always has his music on listening to it. lol i love to listen to music when that i am mopping the floors. lmao i probably look like a big idiot mopping the floors and dancing with the mop! lol right? lol when my family and myself moved into the home that we have been at for almost six years now, one of the next door neighbor ladies came over i thought to welcome me and to visit for awhile, well was i wrong, she came to knock on the door to let me know that i had my music too loud. duh, welcome to the neighborhood. take care and have a beautiful day today!

I have been lucky in that the neighbours cannot hear mine when it is on, I have asked them before when I have had it on just to make sure!!!

Hi I use to work with music even when I am doing some writing works. It will add two more person on me on my right and left side to do my work very correctly on time to finish my work more effectively. People who all are staying alone at they can only rid loneliness with music and videos. This will improve your skill set and time that we taken to finish that work will be completed on time, we never feel boring at all. We feel very energetic when there is a music with us. I don't know about others, but commonly music works and workouts a lot. Is it correct or not?

I like having music on while I work also. For some reason, it helps distract from the monotony of the task and its more fun. The time goes by rather quickly and yes, you are right, its almost dissapointing when you are finished. Who would have thought?

I either have music on or nothing. If I have the tv on, i get distracted and will end up watching whats on instead. My housework has suffered over the last weeks though so I think I might have to have some music on soon and get my bum into gear lol

The influence of music is profound. It helps to calms down when people are in anxiety. In shopping malls, where customers are encouraged to stay longer, usually the slow paced music is played, while in fast food restaurant, in order to enhance turnover quick paced music is played. Some people cannot stand music or other sounds when doing work, others, esp boys, like to have music on to help calm down, and in turn, to concentrate. I like soft, low music on when I work.
