and tie up in the middle!
As some of you are aware my hubby was made redundant last week, he has job hunted relentlessly every single day and has managed to find one or two things that he is applying for, but in the meantime I have tried to do my bit. I put to him that I would try and find a job myself but I am due to have an operation soon and will not be able to work for up to 3 months after so it is a bit hard. So I have started selling on ebay again!
I am only putting things on that I had left from when I last did it and then stuff that I have around the house but so far I am doing OK, slow but steady!! I also have a few places where I can get make up from and with the fact that I have now made a few friends I am considering hosting a make up party using my own products and not through an agency so you never know it may work for me!!! I also have ideas for clothing too so it may end up being something or may end up being nothing, who knows anything is worth a try!!
Have you ever come up with ideas to make money that have really taken off and been successful for you?

Hi gemini_rose - I'm sorry to hear about your money troubles and the need to bring in some extra cash. You mentioned that you'll be having surgery real soon which makes it difficult for you to find work too. I know exactly how you feel as I was unemployed for over a year & a half due to medical problems. I still have them, with no diagnosis either. I knew I had to do something to earn some extra money besides myLot & the other online programs I am involved in. Last month I began selling Avon. I figured that it might work for me since I can rest when I need to and also make my own hours. I don't know if anything like this might work for you where you live. I know Avon is sold in many countries but I'm not sure about the U.K. You might want to check into it. Just an idea. It has been working out ok for me so far. I have had some sales since I started last month but I'm still working on it. All of my sales, except one to my own mother, have been online orders through my website. So, that really helps because there is no physical leg work involved. It makes it a lot easier for me since my medical problems cause me leg pain & numbness. Hope you find something soon!
Take care,
Jill

Thank you for your ideas, I can access avon but I have done avon before and it was hard but I have considered looking at it again with the possibility of making it an online thing so thank you.

Nope, not me. None of the things I've ever attempted were very good at getting me a good amount of money, at least nothing I was interested in continuing. I've heard about those home parties before, unfortunatly my house isn't fit for a home party, so that's out of the question. Maybe someday though.

Hi gemini,
When I was single, I use to buy and sell any stuff to my friends like blouses, purses, shoes...It was easy that time since I was working and have a lot of friends all over. Unlike here, I have a very limited friends.
Anyway,, I was also selling Avon that time and lending money to friends and office mates with little interest added on!
I wasn't that successful since it didn't last that long but I will say, I was able to earn from that those time...
This time, I do know what is best in this new place..I Am looking for job for almost 2 months now and hear nothing from any of them....Good luck in what you are trying and I am sure with patience and perseverance, you will be seeing great results later!

It can be done it is just a case of putting every effort in. I am slowly building up friends so I can approach them with things as and when I get them. I am pretty patient so I am ok on that side of things!!

hello gemini_rose
good luck to you on selling items on e-bay's website. that is a way to make some extra money at home online. my hubby's work as been really slow here since the first of the year hit. and my boss and his wife are out of town right now in Utah visiting his daughter and the new baby. so, they will not be back around here until Monday afternoon late, so i hope that i will have work to do on Tuesday next week when that they get back home. yesterday in my spare time, i spent most of the day hanging out around here at Mylot. i also have an ebay account and i have sold all kinds of different items before, fax machine paper, new boxed stationary, to inner tubes to old record albums. i do not have anything right now for sell at ebay. good luck to your hubby in finding himself a new job.
take care and have a beautiful day today!

We cannot lay down and die and have to be proactive on this. Last year, I made a basket using a beach bag as the base for guests at a villa and they were very pleased. I did a few more then the overseas company that they book through gave me their orders. I personalise them - for example if there are children I may out in beach toys and organic mosquito repellent. Tourism is down and my profit is very small built I have made about US$400 profit this season. My son is now going to take photographs of my bags so that I can contact other agencies abroad and maybe get some more business. I think that company knows that I give value for service and am not greedy.
I wish you every success

It is all too easy to lay down and die, to get something work has to be put in, I can be lazy and I need to stop it and pull my finger out. It sounds like you have a good thing there and I wish you all the luck in the world with it xx

I think you are on the right track, any money is good money. I do the same sell on ebay, pay for post blogging, surveys on line, just be careful there is no get quick rich scheme that will work. This is unless your are the one selling it. I remember checking out a MLM scam where a guy had program he would sell you how to make money for $49.99. All you did was make copies of his program and sell it for $79.99. The program it self was nothing more than words on a page. Keep pushing on in these tough times, good luck with all you must deal with in the coming months.

why don't you do the tupper ware idea, have your party and if people would have a party with their friends, and sell your products they will get a commission from you and a gift for having the party if they can get two friends of theirs to host a party.

you can go to thrift stores and also garage sales to purchase stuff that you can sell on ebay.
as for me, i work part time and am here on mylot plus we sell on ebay and i make and sell crafts (as well as presents for family members birthdays).
you also may want to try getting freebies off the internet too!

Times are tough these days and finding a job is hard. My husband walked out on me and I had no job or income. Fun times. I got a part time job at a school and for a little extra cash I have tried tutoring, I make a little extra here on mylot and I write articles for associated content. Its not much but I am getting by.

You have done well, it is funny but I think under pressure we can thrive. I mean my hubby has supported me for ten years, it occured to me during a rough patch that if he was to leave me I would have nothing. Also because I have not had to support myself I have become reliant on him so now I am going to do something myself and I have the ideas it is just putting them into action.

Hi, first sorry to hear about your problems with the job hunt. I know that can be difficult. I have found something that really works for me and I'm part of a community online where there are many just like you trying to pay off debt or have lost their jobs. A few are disabled and make their money like that. There you can also try to sell your stuff as many people do as well...So for me this is a great way to pay my monthly bills :) And I have made nice friends. I can go there and ask any question and people will try to help out...
