Salutations

Hi friends,
I recently got a complaint (if you will) from a Mylotter because I begin all of my correspondence the same way, (Hi friend). They really had a problem with this.
I am asking all Mylotters out there, do you have a problem with the way I respond to discussions? This is in fact a habit I picked up from Nancy Grace and have used this for years.
If there is a problem or this is against the rules, please feel free to let me know.

hello
there is nothing in the rules about greeting people before getting to the point
whoever complained to you about that must not have any social skills outside the internet
i wonder if they just walk up to strangers on the street and immediately make their point or if they greet the person cordially first and then start making their point?
These are supposed to be discussions
discussions are like conversations
conversations should be cordial and freindly
I cant understand why anyone would complain about you being freindly

I'm with wonttakelong - I'm surprised someone took the time to complain to you about it. It's must be some sort of trigger for them. As already stated, I don't think you're violating any myLot TOSs. You are just using a salutation that is common for you. You aren't calling anyone names or using offensive language. I think friendliness should be encouraged. :)

Hello cher8558! I don't think it's a violation here in mylot. I also used a salutations together with the name too but no one still told me that they don't want it or it's annoying or something. I don't even have problems with it. I guess it would be better and it would be your trademark then, right?
don't mind about it, just continue what you're doing and ignore others who would try to make you feel bad..

You've got to be kidding me!! Someone is complaining about your calling them friend?? WTH?? What would they like to be called? Enemy? Good grief!! I can find much bigger things to complain about so the person needs to really get over it!!

i dont have a problem with it.. its not my style but i dont care if others do it.. what are they trying to say that its against the rules because you could be copying it and saying it for everything? as long as its not the only thing you say its not against the rules!! they are just cranky!
