I definitely believe in them. My parents were "kitchen Doctors". Every ailment had a remedy that could be found in the kitchen cabinet. I've studied herbology and received a certification in that field and I continue to research every type of alternative healing modality I can find.
I haven't been to a doctor for anything except broken bone and eye problems in over 30 years, so yes, they do work. The key is to educate yourself. Know what can genuinely harm you so you can avoid those things, but find remedies using common kitchen ingredients.
Here are a couple of articles demonstrating what I mean.

certainly, i searched on line other home tips or natural remedy to cure a minor disorders or sickness, alternative medicine does good to our body since if we take too much synthetic medicine, later on this would only harm our liver , have you asked your grandma or grandpa, they are one of the best source of natural home remedy asides from the internet. like honey , is it said in the bible that taking up honey is good for our body and it is well proven based on my experience, it's best when you have weak lungs, asthma, etc.

I'm in the process of getting over being sick and it probably could have been avoided if I had begun using "alternative" methods to help my immune system fight off the illness.
The illness started a couple of weeks ago and lasted about a day and a half, then stopped. My hubby bought green tea, ginger tea, etc for me, along with organic apples and bananas, etc, etc. I didn't use the products often and after about 5 days of feeling pretty good, I developed a bad sore throat...the next day I felt cold all day long and later that night developed a fever, followed by severe headaches.
Drinking soda at work, going out for a fast food lunch one day (which I totally stopped doing) and not eating the amount of organic fruit that I normally do certainly allowed this illness to take hold. My hubby has been fighting off the this bug...he feels like he's developing a sore throat, so he drinks the tea in the morning and again at night. He takes his vitamins, which includes a twice a day dose of echinacea, drinks at least 30-40 ounces of purified/bottle water a day and eats a couple pieces of fruit each day... and he's still fighting off this bug that some doctors have called the flu (both of our sons had much smaller versions of what hit me, but they too eat fruit and drink lots of organic fruit juice during the day)
I'm convinced if I had done a little more to keep my immune sysytem strong and drank ginger tea at the start of my sore throat...instead of the soda that I claimed soothed my throat...I may not have been nearly as sick.
My doctor believes in alternative medicines said he had no other choice but to give me a antibiotic because I was in such bad shape...and what a horse pill it was...875gm of amoxicillian

I believe they are still useful and if not better than modern medicine. Ginger tea helps sore throats. Aloe vera does help in making your hair thick.

hello forslahiri
when i have a really bad sore throat, i always will make myself several cups of hot tea during the day and i add honey and lemon juice to the tea and drink it as hot as i can drink it without it burning my mouth. so that is one of my home remedies that i find that works for me. i would rather drink some hot tea like that than to have to take any medicine for a sore throat. and right off of the bat, that is about the only home remedy that i can think of right now. lol and if i am not mistaken i think that garlic juice is a natural product that one can drink for hairloss. i hope that it was garlic juice. lol
take care and have a beautiful day today!
