This is why people say democrats are not patriotic.

I'm not writing this thread to question the patriotism of any democrats here on mylot. I am starting this thread to show why such accusations are so common. I would simply like to direct you to the way liberals who frequent CNN.com react to an attack on George W. Bush. I know not everyone feels the way they do, but these are the people giving you all
Here are reactions to the man who threw shoes at former President Bush. Note how many of them call this moron a "Hero".
Dear Friend,
You should know that we all feel your pain and admire your courage… we hate this man's soleless smile as well. You have my sympathy.
Ray Fisher, Albuquerque, NM
That's Georgie's "Decider" smile, not truly a smile but more of an arrogant grimace!!! Too bad this guy has a bad aim!!!
FORMER REPUBLICAN
IF AMERICA WAS TRULY THE LAND OF JUSTICE,
BUSH WOULD BE TRIED FOR THE LOSS OF MORE
THAN 1,000,000. GET IT RIGHT AMERICA. BUSH MADE
US POOR & WAR CRIMINALS. I FEEL GUILTY FOR VOTING
FOR THE SICKO. BUT I WILL NOT LIE TO MYSELF, MY CHILDREN
OR THE REST OF THE WORLD. BUSH HAS NO SOUL.
Kenneth
Too bad Mr. Shoe Thrower wasn't set "straight" so he could have hit Bush right between the eyes!
We applaud your efforts al-Zaidi…for that lone, courageous act fairly surmised what we had been suppressing for years. I personally hold nothing in my heart against you for your bold statement.
Be at peace.
red
lol……thank to bush the whole world is in a terrible econmic crisis…………….
Minnesotan
This guy is a hero to most of the world. Our one regret is that he didn't ricochet a shoe or two off of Bush's microcephalic head.
david goldman
BLIND IDIOTS LIKE YOU SUPPORTED ANOTHER PRESIDENT
THAT LATER HAD A "BRILLIANT" IDEA OF MAKING OVENS TO FRY
PEOPLE.BUSH SENT MORE THAN 1,000,000 PEOPLE TO THEIR
DEATH WITH A LIE FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF LINING THE
POCKETS OF HIS LOBBYISTS, FRIENDS & HIMSELF & MORE
THAN 200,000 GOT THEIR MINDS & BODIES MANGLED FOR LIFE.
BUSH DESERVES TO BE TRIED FOR WAR CRIMES, LYING TO
THE AMERICAN PEOPLE & COUNTLESS OTHER CRIMES.
This hero did what about 50 million AMericans would have liked to have the chance to do - target bush with our anger over his destruction of the AMerica we once knew and will hopefully know again.

So torturing people is patriotic? A lot of people are angry about what the Bush administration did. That doesn't make them unpatriotic. Plus, many Republicans voted for Obama BECAUSE of Bush. Are they unpatriotic too? Or is it just Democrats?

Did you actually read the thread or just look at the topic and post? I'm talking about the morons who are calling a man a hero for attacking President Bush. Encouraging and cheering for an attack on the leader, now former leader, of this country is unpatriotic.
Rather than address the content of this thread you chose to get on your soapbox and accuse me of things I didn't say. Disagreeing with Bush and voting him out is just fine. Cheering for someone who attacked him is not. Why can't liberals like you realize there's a difference?

It's ridiculous to assume all Democrats or all liberals agree with the relative handful of people who wrote these comments. Pretty much like it would be ridiculous to agree all conservative Republicans agree with what some of the crazies on that side says. It's always a shame when people say something that does have some truth to it but they have to couple it with something else that is totally ludicrous and takes away from the sense they have made! Not all but some of the things these people said are true, in my opinion, but they've managed to make themselves look like fools by adding things about how this shoe thrower was a hero or should have had better aim.
I know we're on opposite sides on this but I don't think someone is not patriotic because they believe that IF someone from a past or current Administration may have committed war crimes they should be caught and prosecuted. It's not unpatriotic to oppose a war that turned out to be based on lies. Nor is it unpatriotic to feel that a previous President didn't have our best interests at heart and/or lied to us and has some culpability in our economic woes.
Basically I'm trying to say I don't think anyone with any sense or objectivity would use something like this to tag all Democrats as not patriotic. Such accusations are not justified by this CNN thread.

Well I was using it as an example of what people see and what leads them to make such accusations. Another example is the Obama Forum:
http://www.theobamaforum.com/index.php
Now the people there are downright disgusting and racist. On the thread where that forum was brought up I said in no uncertain terms that I believe Obama himself would throw up if he saw the behavior there. Still, sites like that and the DailyKOS are very common where liberals don't simple hate a president, but rather the entire country. They are likely a small minority of democrats, but they are a loud and vocal minority. Every group is judged by their worst example and for democrats, that's it.
