Hi fellow Filipinos,
According to latest news, the prize now of Super Lotto is P288M ($6.2M)! As of this moment, more and more are joining from all walks of life. There are also first timers from different ages.
I don't bet, and it's my personal choice. It's not that I don't want to be rich, but I would rather work harder and instead of relying on luck. Besides, I might get crazy if I win or my life may be in danger...
How about you? Of course, non-Filipinos can also join this discussion.

Hello fatherblogger! I don't bet at any kinds of gambling. I know the prize seems like a trigger for filipino people to bet and try their luck in lotto. I also think I have no luck with that. I remember when I was still in highschool, we were required to get or buy a raffle tickets in school and I never won..hehehe..

Yes, I had the same experience when I was in high school which I think is illegal. With regards to luck, I think it's always applicable to everyone - that's why it's called luck.
But still, I want to find my luck in the real world...

yes, I agree with you..It's ok with me if I am not lucky in gambling..I better be lucky with everything such as lovelife, family and the fields I want. I guess it's more winning than the lotto.

Hi, fellow Filipino.
I'm fully aware of this condition you mentioned here. Anyone would be tempted to bet in the current winnings at stake in the lottery since it is getting higher and higher by the day.
But I have to say that I'm quite surprised by your decision, although I respect your own choice. Personally, I haven't bet for the last 2 draws of the 6/49 Superlotto. First, I don't feel like betting at this time. And honestly, I lack the extra funds to spare for the lottery. I'm not a heavy better, too. On the average, I bet about once in a couple of months or even more seldom.
At the most, I have won 800 pesos more than 3 years ago. This is about 16 dollars. Somehow, this is a blessing because we used it for my monthly check-up then, when I was pregnant with our first child.
Hopefully if I ever win the grand prize in the local lottery, I plan to give 10 percent of the total winnings to various charitable institutions. I will give about 10 million pesos to my parents and my parents-in-law. My spouse and I have already agreed on this subject. A portion will be utilized for purchasing our own parcel of land where we plan to build our own house. Further, about 2 million will be used to purchased additional hectares of land for plantation of various fruits and vegetables. We also dream of having our own business where we could employ less fortunate Filipinos and out-of-school youths so that in one way, we will be able to ease their burden and uplift them from poverty.

I think that's a very mature agreement with your husband. Although some may think what you both did is crazy, I think it's just being realistic.
Unfortunately, some bettors just want to win but don't have plans on how to spend the prize. In the end, they lost everything even the things that they have before they won.
I think you really have a big heart for fellow Filipinos.
About my personal decision, I think it's not only me who do not rely on luck so it's not really surprising for me.

Right now it's already 300+ million for the jackpot. That's really a big jackpot ever. Early morning people started to line in lotto stations to play for tonight's lotto game. Good luck for all those who made their bet already. Who knows you might be the winner already!

Hi fatherblogger, good day to you. Well by the way this is my response to your forum topic entitled "P288 M Super Lotto - Do you or not?". Well me i am not joining that lotto, because as i solve how many numbers are there in the combination of lotto there are almost 200,000 plus combination. And i think that i am not lucky when it comes to lottery. Hehe LOL... I think i am a loser when the games is like that! But i hope the next day there will be a Filipino who will win the 6/49 draw and i hope he/she will share her/his money to poor people. Well that's all my response to your forum topic! Thank you and GODBLESS you always!!! Happy mylotting!

200,000 plus combination?! Wow, I think the winner is destined to be rich! And yes, I hope the winner will be generous enough to share his blessing. But of course, a lot of money can drive someone crazy especially if you really did not work hard to get it.
Although I understand the winner will attending series of seminars and be taught on how to handle such big money, I wish he will listen well and follow them religiously.

I do bet but not always since the present money I have in my pocket is very important to me..It is gambling for a star to fall down on you..It's that hard..Pure luck..If I bet my 20 pesos If I win that's fabolous but what if I don't I lost 20 pesos which could buy me food for my children and I will just be down and sorry because I wasted my money on gambling for luck...I would like to try yes but still having second thoughts. I have dreamed about what I would do with the money in case I win though and I would never be selfish if I do.. All I want is a house for my whole family..a business to get my money going..plenty of food and some clothing..and I would build an orphanage which I so dreamed of and maybe have another child on the way since we would be able to support all of them now. I would also donate some to Africa..buy them food, clothing and toys for the children. I would also build a toy factory that will produce free toys for the poor..I will also have a farm..and help all the street people who doesn't have a home and starving. My main focus would be for the children. Although it is all but a dream..I hope someday when I try to gamble my 20 pesos on Lotto I wish I do win something even if it is not that big.

I am not a lotto player but the very huge prize tempted me to bet on it. Unluckily, only two numbers of my numbers came out from the winning combinations. it drives everyone crazy and the media got me to bet.

I live in Florida and we have Lotto a couple of times a week, Powerball weekley and daily numbers as well. I rarely play. If I remember to buy a ticket and if the prize is substantial then I will buy a couple of bucks. It's fun to dream about winning, but realistically I know the odds of my winning are not good, so I don't spend more than a three dollars. Besides, if you are going to win, you are going to win with one dollar. Good luck to you!

Just saw this discussion and I tried to find a way at how much one's chances are at getting a winning combination. I was really shocked but not really surprised. I had one in 13,983,816 chance of getting the winning combination. What I did find was that I had more chances of being struck by lightning, lol! But i think it wouldn't hurt if I did take the chance.

when my dad was still alive, he used to bet in lotto and yeah he almost won but due to unavoidable circumstances, he wasn't able to bet his numbers on time. and yes it would have been a jackpot, it's sad but I guess it's not meant to be. we're a whole bunch of hardworking people though lol. I do bet on lotto but really seldom and I forget to check the winning numbers most of the time... so much for betting lol...

Hi there! I came across this post and I found it interesting so here I am posting my insight on you topic. I normally don't bet on lotto because 1st of all I don't have the money for that (I was a student back then with no extra baon for miscellaneous stuff) and secondly I am lousy at choosing numbers. When I do they really dont come out! haha. But when I found out the prize my god! Bet all you like ako. hehe. Well, I bet now on a regular basis. I do this not because I'm relying on winning the prize but because its "nakakaenganyo" since the prize is really big. I always think 'What if in the 1st time that I bet I suddenly get the prize?? Wouldn't that be cool??'. But I don't rely on this. Its just fun sometimes.
If I win, maybe the only reason why people (I) will get crazy is coz the money will reach their heads already. They start to be arrogant, conceited, big spenders etc. Life can only be in danger when you live your life very very differently from what you used to before winning the lotto.

I was supposed to bet yesterday but I saw there were lots of people lining up so I got discourage by the volume of people lining up. I am just glad there was no winner last night coz I am planning to buy one either today or tomorrow. If it is possible to bet since I am expecting lines to go longer since the jackpot prize will be growing more once again.

I usually buy a ticket every sunday... other than that i don't anymore... it is only 20 php... so it won't hurt my budget that much... besides it is always nice to dream of winning such a big amount... and we will never know... maybe one of these sundays... i will indeed win... even if it is not as big as the 288 mil jackpot...

That's a whole load of money.. hehe ^_^ We do have the same thing in singapore too and the last recent draw was worth $10million.. lol =D BUt i did not even buy or try my luck in it.. Because it's never possible to claim the whole 10million on by my own..
After deducting of taxes for it, plus, some other so called 'invisible winners' will share the 10million, and thus one will actually only be getting 1million or so only.. lol =D
Though it still makes one a millionaire, but it's a lot of difference between 10million and 1 million..lol =D

I was taught that gambling is not good. Aside from it may get you poorer if you keep on betting without winning, if you win, it may get worst as it can make you rich. And as you said, may get us crazy and might put our lives in danger. I used to buy lotto for some times, in the past, for almost one or years maybe. But I stopped when I noticed that I have almost nothing. I never experienced winning, even 3 or 4 numbers... I don't say I don't need money and I don't want to win that prize, I just don't feel Lotto is for me... The prize of the recent Super Lotto tempted a lot of Pinoys to gamble and find their luck in the game, so good luck to them...

hey, well, there's no harm in trying. just dont put your luck purely on playing this game. if you win, share some. if you dont, then its a game...
