How do you choose a name for a baby? Did you had one chosen and ended up with another? Do you still like that name?
Well I am 32 weeks pregnant with our second child. We dont want to know what the baby is untill it is born and to be honest we dont have a name chosen yet and I honestly dont have a single name that I like. For a girl my husband is pushing my mother in laws name but that aint gona happen for my personal reasons so he gave up. What we did with our son we wrote 5 names each and 1 name showed up on both lists but I also wanted another name and was going to use it but it just did not suit the baby some how. And then my husbands cousins girl started calling him Viktor (which was the name we both liked on the list but no one knew) so we went with that.
We ask my son what we should name the baby and he keeps saying this name but half our friends and family have kids by that name.
I want a name that would have both our names in it (the first letter) like our sone does. V from my name and K from my husband. But apart from Veronica (we are going to spell it with K) I cant think of another name.
Can you help me on this one? Give me some ideas. i like a name that would have a meaning to us. This baby was a gift and totaly unexpected and I gave up on having more kids after so long. So any name that would associate with that or has v, W, q, c, or k in it as a combination would be great.

I like Oskar for a boy and Viktoria or Veronika for a girl. My husbands oldest child is Angelic and then there's Candice (Kandice), Chance, Mia and Isabella.

But I forgot to answer your question! Our children (Chance, Mia and Isabella)were a combo effort. My husband named our son, Chance Cameron, because Chance means risk and he liked that. Mia was supposed to be named Cassandra but at the last moment I decided I liked Mia better. Her middle name (Adele) is my husbands mother's name. Isabella (which almost was spelled Izabella until I was talked out of it by my brother) was a combo effort. Her middle name Renee was a favorite of mine from a ways back. I find the best thing to do is stand at your back door and holler the names many times. I also wrote their names out on paper using different combos until it felt right. Good luck!

I love Isabella (or Izabella) and Mia for girl and Angela (but Angela has been taken). I like names with stories and meanings. Say my name has a story my God mother is German married to orthodox man (my Godfather) and in those days the Godparents gave a list of names to the parents to choose from (before that the godparents chose the name) anyway. on the list were Christina (after my grandfather), Ljubica (after my grandmother) Violeta, and 2 other names. My parents did not want to name me after the grandparents but chose Violeta but... Ljubica is a variation of Ljubicica which is the purple little flower we all know as Violet so as you can see I do have my grandmothers name after all.

Also, another girls name that starts with a "V" that is pretty is Vanessa. I was just thinking about it the other day and thought to myself, " I should have suggested Vanessa." I had forgot about that name until hearing about Natasha Richardson with her mother being Vanessa Redgrave.
Valerie is cute also.

How about Vicky for a girls name? That has a V from your name and a K from your husband's name. For a boys name how about Vinny-Keith? Vera-Kay is a possible girls name. I think Wendy is a nice girls name. I like the name Kerry for a girl and Kelsey. Good luck choosing a name for your baby.

Everyone calls me Vicky so it would be so bad if I name the baby (if its girl) Vicky. I just asked my husband yesterday if he had any names in mind he said " no, how about you" well he is not taking the easy way out (letting me pick the name).

My daughter was named after my grandmother. I was very close to her. And miss her since her passing. I recently had a son. The one requirement my hubby had is that his name have an Irish origin. We chose Aiden because family on both sides like it.

I never knew Aiden was irish, I like that name. Me and husband bot lost our grandmothers in the past 6 weeks or so (my grandmother on the 31st dec 2008 and his on the 4th feb 2009) they both had the same name and it would be nice if we use the female version for a girl only it would be a pain in the a$$ for anyone that is not from my country to say it and the only other variation of that is my name.

We named our children after both of our parents. My father's name was Donald, and his father's middle name is Richard... So we come up with Donavon Richard. For our little girl, same theory. His mother's first name is Catherine, and my mother's middle name is Rose. We come up with Caitlin Rose.
How about Victoria, only spelled Viktoria. It not only uses your son's first 3 letters but it incorporates the V and K into it.

If there was a name of mixing the names I would have but that would sound alien :)))) and plus I have always said that I wont name my kids after the grandparents because we dont have middle name and just having one grandparent is not right to me expecially since it would most likely be the name of my inlaws and not my parents.
Anyway I do like Viktoria a lot but Viktor and Viktoria hmmmmm. I have honestly considered this name long and hard. it is on the list so we will see

Me and my partner decided that if we were to have a girl he would choose her first name, and I would choose his middle name. And if we were to have a boy, I would choose the first name, and he would choose her middle name. We found out at 16 weeks that I was having a boy. I chose the first name as Daniel, and he chose the middle name as Miche'l, which is his middle name. I chose Daniel not for biblical reasons but I like the name, and it can also be shorted to Dan & danny. It's versatile.

I like Daniel or Daniela for girl but half the girls in his town are Daniela. I never belived it was going to be so hard choosing a name. Oh and by the way the name that I always loved in case I had a girl Teodora was stolen from us by his cousin and they always said oh my god that is so old fashion name and people will call her this and that and when they had a baby they named her teodora.
