I need some help with my insurance

I have some questions about my insurance now. I have bought a healthy insurance for three month, but now I want to change for another insurance company. Will I need to contact the former insurance company, told them I want to stop and change for another company or just stop paying and start a new plan with the other company. Do I have the obligation to inform them?
