hi, what if you forgot to take your door key and can't get in the house, what actions do you take? I often did this ! I once borrowed tool from neighbour and prize the window open and jumped in coz there was no spare keys and it was raining heavily on that day. Also I hired workers to jump from the kitchen window to open the door for me, for this, i paid 30.00 for a simplye jump. oh, that's around 4 to 5 dollars. When he accepted the money, guess what did he say? he said, "oh, i'm too shy to take the money for such a one-second jump." he took it, 5 dollars for one jump is a high price, but keeping myself standing outside for hours pays higher.

My ex-boyfriend once forgot the keys to his apartment, and he couldn't get through the window, so offered I to jump in the instead of him. Bad idea. I couldn't get through the window and I ended up hurting myself, because I was too big, and the window was too small! A couple were passing by the house, and they misunderstood the situation. They thought that we were burglars and that we were trying to break into the house. My boyfriend tried to explain the situation, at first they insisted on calling the police, but after a while he managed to convince them that it was his apartment

hi tudors :)
haha funny scenario... it happened many times on us (family member)and everytime it happens we have a remedy for that hehe...since our door is near in the window (hope you can picture that :D) and a jalousie type we just dismantle one glass that can shoot our arm and open the door from the inside. :D
oh my i might have a neigbor here (he/she should have a long arm then :P)...haha just kidding! :D now we make sure that we double-lock our doors ;)

It happened to me several times. What I did was I got back to where I put away the keys. Or contact my wife as she has the other keys.

My husband has forgotten to take his keys, so what he does is rings me for me to go home and give him my keys. Or if I am local, he sends the older child to find me to get the keys off me. It is always good to have a spare set at family's or friends house so if you forget your keys, you can ask if you can get the spare set.

I curse everything around me because usually when I need a key, not finding it stresses me so deeply. The moment of not finding a key is one I abhor most! The last time I lost my office key I had the door broken and a new lock installed, only to find the key the next day!

I did it one time and my husband was working the afternoon shift. So I went to a friend of mine and stayed there until my younger son came home at six since he had his own key at the time. It was a good thing that he was not going out to a friend's house. My key was where I had left it so I put it in the inside zipper part of my purse.
When I was young, like pre-teen, we could just open the window and get in the house that way. Things were much more innocent then.

Ok, Its a difficult situation, you know?
But since we live in apartments, the leasing office always has duplicate keys. so we can get it from them if its normal business hours.( They do charge around $25 to $35 for lockouts).
Another way is to have duplicate keys. You can make duplicate keys (as many as you want for $1 each) in walmart or OSH or any hardware store and keep them in your car and handbag or something like a Hide-a-key (outside burried in lawn).
These are some ways that will avoid you break open the windows and jump inside...

What else to do but to smash the door. This is what happened when my hubby forgot to take the keys when he went to work. He didn't notice there was another missing key since we have double locks on our previous flat.
So when he came home, he was able to open the front door, but the other door, hehehe! that one he smashed by kicking real hard. Well we paid the owner of that flat for that.
Now he got a lesson not to forget and check keys. And i too got aware every time i go out, i double check my keys with me.

Hi tudors it happens to me so many times. But it's not a rainy day so still thanks God. What I usually do I get a lock smith or I do it on my own. Well accidents do happen, forgetting keys call it memory lapses hahaha! But now what I do I always have a duplicate and give it to my fiancee, so if I forget my keys I'll just call her up. Anyway have a nice day to you!

Just two day back we struck out side because of the lock we bought. Its 120 dollar and have lots of option and impossible to break it and open. when my mom turn one knob and close the door from outside and she struck outside and when i came from outside she is sitting outside and the door can't open until release that knob. Its a french door and i break the side door glass and release the knob and we get in. She waited outside for two hours
