Sometimes I stay all inclusive which means you get Airfare,Hotel, drinks and food all included in your package. I find this way does save money. But when I have more money I will just get a villa or stay in a hotel. But you will have to spend more money to eat and drink. What do you prefer?

I enjoy staying in hotels more. I like it if the breakfast is included as I tend to get ridiculously hungry in the mornings and need food fast!! But the rest of it I like to go with the flow and have a choice as to where and when I want to eat or do other things. I don't really like the idea of having it all strictly set out. You are right though, paying for everything included up front does save a lot of money

When I was doing my Travel and Tourism A level I found out that large overseas companies often own all inclusive resorts. The tourists stay there for all or most of their holiday. Therefore the country and local area does not receive much or any money from the tourism. If a traveler buys a flight the airline and airport will get that money. Then the locally owned guest house or hotel would get money for the accommodation. Therefore the traveler might be likely to buy food and drink in the local shops and restaurants. All inclusive deals can look quite cheap. I prefer independent travel, like a flight and then some locally owned guest houses. I travel by air there and then on trains, buses and ferries to other destinations within the region. I love traveling and have visited more than fifty different countries in my life so far.

As I live in a busy mepropolis, I long for time to be open in fresh air. I would rather spend my money in travels to places with natural scenery, either beach or hill areas. The physical walking and climbing, and the sweating all over are tough for a lazy body, but good for health. And very often feel happier than staying in inclusive venues.

I think I would like to, however I have never done this... the closest I have come to it is a cruise and that was wonderful!! Although with 2 kids and the cruises seem to be not as popular as they were 10 yrs ago, I think I would love to go to an all inclusive resort... oh to go on vacation alone would be nice...LOL happy mylotting.

One of the best vacations I ever had was when a large group of us went on an all inclusive vacation to Cancun. It was great...you could eat and drink whenever you wanted...didn't need to worry about anything. I travel a bit and have also done cruises which are also nice but you do have to pay for your drink...which when on vacation tend to add up for sure...can't resist those tropical drinks...LOL! I have also stayed at condos and timeshares and that is nice to but then you have the worry about where to eat...and if you aren't familiar with the area that can get a bit difficult as well. But I would have to say I love the all inclusive or cruise vacations better than any other.

I have only stayed in a hotel, so I really don't know what a resort would be like
