Good for you! Congratulations. I wish our Uncle had the same mind set. It would make things easier. As it is I will probably be the one purchasing the gum or patch for him.

Great decision! I used to smoke when I was a teenager. I became pregnant at 17 and that is when I quit the habit. I am going to be 26 this April, so that makes 9 years ago. Sometimes I still smell them and it brings back memories, but I know that I made a truly good choice! Good luck and congrats!

Woohoooo!!! Applause for the lady!!! Well done, my friend. I quit smoking for six and a half years once... no aids, just stopped, but unfortunately and rather stupidly I started again after six and a half years of being without. I do intend to give up again shortly though... not because of the scaremongery that's being put about but because they're getting so hellishly expensive and I know I can do without them if I want to. Brightest Blessings and again, well done!!!

Yes, well I let myself be goaded into it. I know I can stop though, if I decide I really want to, just as I did back then.

That's quite inspiring. I know you are really serious, from your friends. I had a friend who used to say that he is quitting till he starts again - but you know he was always just kidding. I wish you good luck with the rest of your clear, smokeless life.

Congratulations! :]I quit smoking as well. I smoked on and off since i was about 15 or so. I finally quit for good. It was getting annoying and made me smell bad.. so i just stopped. Also my boyfriend really didnt want me to, so that was my last motivation. I get rare urges, but i control them very well.

You have dont the most honourable thing my friend-just quit the smoking habit for good! Smoking kills and it does alot of bad to your pocket. Many people actually die every year as a result of smoking related problems! So I urge you to quit for life!

I stopped smoking a long time ago Momma. I was in a sports team and was given an ultimatum. Quit and stay on the team, or keep smoking and leave. I quit on the spot and haven't had one since. You have my admiration. I think that the longer that you do it the harder it gets to stop. Well done and congratulations.

I have tried to quit but for one reason or another, I failed. I am curently trying to cut back and have gone from one pack a day to one every two to three days so I have made some progress. I have to ask, how long has it been since you quite smoking? How did you quit?

Today has made five whole days. I went to a doctor last weekend and got a electric pulse treatment done on my eye. that helps with the physical withdrawals. and the dr. gave me some mental tools to help with the mental "wanting" to smoke. I am feeling better then i have in years
