Mylot tagged my discussion

I just posted this morning and when I look at the posting I noticed that it was under the tags of mature content, pot, drugs and friend into drugs, even though I did not tag this discussion with any of these tags. Has this happened to you? Maybe it has happened to me before but I haven't noticed. Does Mylot arbitrarily decide on the tags? I would love to know.

Perhaps the people who replied to you put those tags on.

Hi cyn,
I don't know if it happens to me in the past. Most of the time, I will see additional tags and I will think it's from a friend who posted or responded in my post!

I had almost this exact same discussion the other day. I believe it can be one of two things. Either 1) a person tags the discussion that way or 2) it gets automatically tagged because of the content, certain words will automatically flag it. I tested it on my discussion!

You had a discussion the same as what happened to me? I don't remember this? Can you help me with this? Or were you just talking about dr** use?
Ah, it automatically gets tagged. Many thanks dawn.

I don't know how this happens unless someone tagged it with the plant you named. That would probably put it mature, which I think would be crazy! Sounds like someone else may have tagged your discussion differently than you did. I didn't see any mature content in that discussion. I just saw it as a funny story!

Thanks barb. I didn't see it anything other than a funny story either. I just wander into bizarre situations and have done so all of my life. I think that someone lese tagged it. Many thanks. OMG I have lost spellcheck on my pc. More stress

When you start a discussion, you are given the option to choose tags for it. You may choose up to 10 separate tags. When someone responds, they are also given the option to tag their response. If you did not use all 10 tags in your discussion, sometimes the tags from the response will show up there in the discussion tag area as well. Not sure why. This is why I generally try to give all 10 tags when I start a discussion. I 'm not sure if that always works though. I assume it does.

I live to learn. I thought that we could give up to 5 tags. Many thanks for this. I did not think that post warranted a mature content discussion though but dawn explained why. Thanks for the extra info. Blessings

I've had the tag mature content added to my discussions before, I don't know if it's Mylot or members doing it though. It would be interesting to know the answer, I can't remember what my discussion was about but I remember I didn't see fit to add the tag mature content and I was surprised to see it.

Well, I did post a topic an my friend's son growing p*t in his bathroom so I expect this is why. But I don't see that a passing comment like this warrants a mature content l;abel. Many thanks

Anyone can tag your discussion...so if someone so chose to they might have added a tag and not mylot...I had that happen before too but it was done my others..so make sure you add your own tags...up to ten and then there won't be room for others to tag it!

I am confused, do you mean that you did not tag the discussion but after skipping the tags and viewing the discussion those tags appeared? I think that if so mylot has an automated thing that detects words in a discussion that might be risque and therefore tags them accordingly or appropriately.
Otherwise, it was probably a member. Were the tags relevant to the discussion at all? If not then it's probably a troll...
oh the possibilities, lol!
Great discussion! Have a wonderful day to you and yours and happy mylotting!

I'm not sure if someone else already gave this answer or not, because I'm answering through e-mail, however, I think it's possible that it was not Mylot who tagged your discussion, but another user. After we respond we're given the option to add tags, but instead of those tags going onto our comments, they go onto the entire discussion. My guess is that's the case here.

Hey cythiann! I think that they can tag a discussion Mature
Content if they feel that it is necessary. As for the other
tags, I'm not sure. Was there anyone in the discussion that
used those words in their responses? Sometimes that's how the
other tags get there. It isn't just the tags that you yourself
use. As the discussion continues the tags increase by what
others use as tags. So that might be where the other tags
came from. I know which discussion you are talking about so
I will go back and check it out, but I still wouldn't be able
to see what other's tagged their responses. It's ok though,
they do watch the discussions for certain topics and decide
if they should be tagged Mature Content.

It not just happen to mature content, but all kinds of discussions. This happen to me when i don't write the tags on new discussions and it has been adding before someone posting my discussions. I think mylot check your discussions and decide what must mylot put on your tags before someone else responding.
