i was browsing for updated dunks in sneakerobsession.com and it was one of the headlines that the shoes which was being auctioned in ebay was a big fake. and i really felt bad because the highest bid was $20, 000. KATC, who was the one who found out that the one in ebay was fake, ran into Nate who in the taping for the David Letterman show found out that shoes, which is with Nate, is the ONLY actual pair Nike has produced for Nate during the 2009 NBA All Star Slam Dunk contest. I saw Nate on news and was mesmerized by his shoes and his performance too. i am not so fond of watching basketball but the excerpts aired caught my attention. =) $20,000 is much. i just really hope that the person hasn't paid the seller yet. and i hope they can find that seller and be put to jail.

This is so wrong and there is a strong possibility that the deal was not actually finalised, i.e. the money paid over to the seller after the auction finished. I do not like to see people taken advantage of at all but I also have to say that if the winning bidder did not verify that these shoes were genuine before they paid the money, then they certainly have no common sense at all. In fact I have huge doubts about their intelligence to pay that amount of money for a pair of shoes, regardless of who there were made for. I mean to say $20,000 for a pair of shoes is absolutely ridiculous as far as I am concerned, and a waste of money at any time let alone in this current global economic climate. These days eBay are getting very tough when it comes to fraud, because it is their reputation on the line. They want both buyers and sellers using their services and so they know that people need to be protected from the scammers. I know that here in Australia, they have withdrawn/cancelled certain items up for auction at the request of the authorities. I would hope that they are doing the same in other countries when the auction items is, shallwe say, "suspect".

Too rich fior me I am afraid. Imagine getting mugged and all for a pair of shoes and nothing more than that. Scary thought and a blow to the self-esteem I would say. Thanks for giving me best response to your discussion and I think we are both doing well to live within our means.

i know. but yes, i know some people who would never have second thoughts in buying shoes worth $20,000 or 20,000php. there's this shoes called Nike Dunk SB Tiffany - it's worth 24thousand pesos up! can you imagine? LOL. and they're rich so - oh, well. i try to live with my means though. i know i may envy those kids but i have so many things to attend to than drool over the 24k worth of shoes. lol.

I never tried to buy anything on ebay because i feel that everything in ebay is over priced and i can get the same products for a cheap price in my locat market. I think it is the duty of ebay to check for fake items and ban them from selling fake items.

yes, i wanted it to have it that way so that we could prevent someone selling fakes to ebay users. but there are a lot of ebay users in the world. lol.

There could be many more fake items on eBay at all times. This is not the first time anyone is selling fake item. Many people wouldnt know it until they buy and check the item thier selves when they receive it.
