Not all dogs have black noses and paws. We have a chihuahua that is white and his nose and paws are peach. I think that it is probably the same kind of textured skin as I have felt both.

I do sometimes tap one of our dogs noses, I did it out of curiosity to see if it was wet like a cat's nose!

I did read on here in a discussion that a dogs paws is like a humans fingerprint, none are exactly the same, interesting question.

hello modstar hum, that is a very good question. i have also noticed that a dogs paws and that their nose is almost alike skin wise as you called it, lol, except for the dogs nose being wet or moist, whatever that you want to call it. and i have no idea if a dogs nose and paws are made from the same skin. looks like it would be reasonable thou, like humans, all of our skin is the same. so why shouldn't dogs or other animals for that matter be the same? i have a photograph of my dog Doughnut on my profile page here at Mylot if you would like to take a look at her. take care and have a beautiful evening.

I would be glad to check Doughnut's photo. Sorry it took this long. I was using my phone for more than two months so i kind had a difficulty browsing from pages to pages.

No, the skin is different. The paws have a thinker, rougher skin. Justlike there is a difference between your nose and the bottom of your feet. I can't say hands because you don't walk on those.

Yes, paws are rougher it's because dogs don't wear flip flops or shoes. But if they'll use their nose to walk, then i guess it will become rough too. So still the same right? I can't say the same for the human nose because it will bleed before it becomes callous. lol!

I'm not convinced. I looked at Tukay's feet and while the skin is callosed, it's also smooth. And pink colored. Her nose, while not callosed has a bumpy texture like the individual skin cells are larger. And it's black colored. I wonder if dogs had a choice, if they would walk on their noses in order to have four feet to smell with?
