Is Mrs Fields ripping you off with her cookies?

My sister gave me two pieces of Mrs. Fields. One cookie, the Macadamia is very ordinary. Nothing like i never had before. The other one, the chewy choco is ok but not really extraordinary. One small cookie costs 90 cents to $1! Maybe i'm just a cheapskate but personally, i think it's not worth it. I'd rather buy a decent burger.

I Think that the cost of things have gone up so much because of the cost to make it, even though I would have to wonder if some companies are cutting costs on their supplies thus getting a off brand or using staler things rather then fresher.
I wouldn't buy a cookie if it was small and that much!

Hi mod, I haven't even tasted any of those cookies you were talking about. But I agree a burger is more worth it than an expensive nothing-extraordinary cookie. But you have to bear in mind that other people out there might be a fan to the product. To each his own.

Yeah, they are a rip off. What about those Pepperidge Farm cookies, too? Those are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. You're better off buying some of those betty crocker cookie mixes in the little bags and making your own. I make 9 big cookies out of each bag and they are SO good.

Hey modstar! I'd have to agree with you on this one! I don't
particularly think that Mrs. Fields cookies are work the price
either! I have had cookies that are better! I also think that
she sold the company anyway! But, those so called "gourmet"
cookie companies get away with those prices because people
are buying the cookies so if we stopped buying them then they
wouldn't be able to sell them at those ridiculous prices!

Maybe they're as old as Mrs Fields that they will reason out that they have grown up liking Mrs Fields generations after generations. I hope they wake up. There are lots of equally good cookies out there which will not bore a hole on their pockets. Unless they want to be extravagant or fabulous, then there's nothing we can do if they like Mrs Fields.

hello modstar
the Mrs. Field's cookies especially the ones with the macadamia nuts in them are worth a dollar each because of the nuts being so expensive. and i think that the chocolate Mrs. Field's cookies probably should be a little less expensive. but a person can make just as good of as cookie at home and have alot more cookies to eat. you can probably find the copycat recipe for the Mrs. Field's cookies online somewhere if you would be interested in baking the cookies yourself at home. i love making homemade cookies and they are so delicious when that they first come out of the oven all hot and gooey. and instead of using wire racks to cool off the cookies on when that they come out of the oven, i use newspaper. then you have no mess, fold the newspaper up and throw it away when all of the cookies are finished baking.
take care and have a beautiful evening.

It's like would you pay much for a starbucks coffee or a pair of levis jeans. Interms of quality, the cheap and expensiove brands may be the same but it's the brand name and the credibility they have with the name are the ones we are paying much for.

hahahahaha. You might be right, you might be too frugal. I don't think it's a rip off. Maybe a bit, since you're paying for your bum to get bigger. hahaha

I used to eat the macadamia cookies, and stopped buying them because they are too expensive, and you really do not get much for your buck.
Actually, my husband's stepdaughter used to live in and cook for Mrs. Field in Colorado. The whole time she worked for her she did not send us not one free cookie.

I agree with you about the price of those cookies. I don't buy them either because of the price of them. I think it is a big rip off.
