Feeling better.

Have you ever been really sick, and then one day you wake up and suddenly you're perfectly fine? I've been pretty sick since Tuesday. It started off as a bad sore throat, then my ears began to hurt, and my neck where my lymph nodes are. It was so bad that on Wednesday I went to see a doctor, which I don't normally do unless I think it's really bad and won't clear up on it's own. Yesterday (Thursday) I was still pretty bad, and to add to all the pains, I also felt very weak and lathargic. I felt like I was going to collapse at any moment, and could barely move. At the end of the day I began to feel better, my sore throat was gone by the time I went to bed, and my ear ache was gone too. I woke up this morning feeling 100% better. It's astonishing! It feels like I was never sick at all. All week I haven't wanted to do a thing, not even move. Today I got up and out of the house early, I did all my grocery shopping, I even put on make up (which isn't something I do often, but just felt so good today I wanted to do it). When was the last time you were sick? How long did it take you to get better? Did you just suddenly feel better, or was it a long and slow process before you felt 100% again?

I caught a flu bug which has been sweeping the country a few weeks ago. The sore throat, the coughing, all that stuff I could cope with. But after all those symptoms cleared up I was left with a heart that was missing beats occassionally and I was just so tired it took all my efforts just to mind the little one. I was napping several times during the day and in bed before the kids. Thankfully, about a week ago I started feeling more normal again. One day I woke up and just carried on as normal again and it wasn't until later that I realised that I didn't actually ache any more! My heart is still doing funny beats occassionally, goodness knows what's going on there, but the rest of me is fine.

Nah, they're getting better so I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Was a bit scary when I was sick though as you could actually feel my pulse changing. Can you tell that I hate going to the doctor? LoL

Actually, I should have added that it's been a week since my original response now and they seem to have stopped happening. Yey!!

The last time I was ill was just the last 9 days actually! I took my daughter to tots on a thursday, when we came home an hour after she started with the runs. Over the next few days she was really off it and she seemed to have a head cold. The following wednesday I spent the day in the garden and in the evening I started feeling off colour, all bunged up in my head an aching neck and ankles and my chest hurt. I thought it was because I had been by a tree and that it was the pollen off the tree causing it but over the next few days I realised that I was not well at all. I felt so ill, and I had no energy whatsoever every little chore around the house was a trial and I just could not wait for bedtime to come every night. To wake up these last couple of days and feel my normal energetic self has been the biggest blessing ever because I was really starting to think something was wrong with me and I lost over half a stone as well because I was unable to eat anything for the last few days.

Glad you're feeling better. We were all hit with those stomach bugs too, it was pretty nasty. Thankfully we're all getting better now.

I had the flu a month ago and it took about four days to feel like myself again..once I started drinking lots of water I started feeling better and better...I had the earache thing too...strange. Also got a stiff neck. that took several days to get over.....just talked to my son a bit ago and he now has a headache...stiff neck etc....can't wait until spring!

My neck was getting stiff, but not quite there yet. I seriously thought it would get a bit worse before it got better, but it just very suddenly got better. So odd!

Lucky girl. Not me. I get sick and it takes forever (or it feels like forever) for me to get better. Even when I am, the experienced wears me down. And then I am just exhausted. Glad you feel better. I had a cold in November while I was still pregnant. Which made things seem even more awful.

Each time I've been pregnant I was horribly sick from start to finish. I didn't go a day of feeling well at all. I remember my most recent pregnancy I almost passed out during my son's curriculum night because I was so weak and feverish and ill feeling!

Hey kats! I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better! I haven't been feeling too well for that last few weeks myself. One minute I'm ok and then the next I am feeling achy and tired and just plain miserable! And then I feel better for awhile and I go out and then the next day it starts all over again! I finally also went to the doctor yesterday and I found out that I have a really bad sinus infection. The doctor looked in my nose and said it was so bad he couldn't see anything! So he gave me an antibiotic, which I haven't picked up yet so I guess that is what was wrong! I have had some pretty nasty sinus infections before and they can make you feel pretty sick! So hopefully this antibiotic will get it out of my system totally!

I hope you feel better soon. I usually get the sinus infections, I hate them, so much pressure! But mine go away on their own.

I have been flirting off and on for about a month and a half. Not enough to keep me down, just enough to annoy me. I do know what you mean about the morning you wake up feeling great. I love that day! You can take on anything and seem to get a superhuman amount of stuff done!

I think often the rest does our bodies good so when we awake we feel refreshed and ready to go again. Being ill can take a lot of energy from our bodies normal "get up and go". I hate being sick. I have major health problems that limit my ability to live a normal life. I am not going to give up though. I am a survivor. Glad you are feeling better.

I am glad that you are feeling better. I have been told that there is a nasty stomach flu going around where I live, and I am really hoping I do not get it myself. The last time I was really sick was in Feb. 2008, right around Valentine's Day. As a matter of fact, for two or three weeks straight, one or two of us was sick in the house. It seemed as though it lasted close to a week and then, one day, we woke feeling brand new again. It was not a long drawn out recovery.

I don't get sick and when I do it is only for a short time. My genes are special. All my ancestors lived to be over 100 yrs old.

Yes, sometimes it feels like you keep going downhill more and more and have other things making you feel worse, and you wonder what could possibly happen next ... And then start to wonder if you will ever get better!! ... Then one day it starts fading away until you forget all about it almost. Glad to hear you're feeling better. :-)

Yes.. i've been hospitalized for four days due to diabetes.. before i was admitted, i wasn't really feeling well because my sugar level is above normal (260 and up).. when i've started to take the insulin and medicines, i felt a great change within me.. now, i'm feeling better and i can do some things that i used to do before like window shopping, going to the grocery, cleaning our condo unit, etc...

hello katsmeow wow, it is good to hear that you woke up this morning feeling lots better like that. that is good news. it sounds like maybe that the medicine that you were taking, kicked in and made you all feel better. there is nothing like feeling good for the day. and to answer your question about when was the last time that i got sick? a couple of days last week i was fighting some kind of a cold or it was more like a sinus headache, pressure, yuckie feeling. so i kept doctoring that myself with tylenol and hot tea. it is good that you are feeling better so that you will be ready for your-all's moving coming up soon. take care and have a beautiful evening.

It seems that for me whenever there is something upsetting, I feel weak to fight against the potential offences. The mental stress and poor immune performance for inferior weather conditions are a surprisingly strong spark to ignite the disease. I had one during the spring festival when i had a lot of chores to do. Exactly the same feelings as you had. With conscious medication, and abundant water, and good rest will help recovery. It is good you are well, and enjoy mylotting.
