In my country,India, the bananas are very cheap.
Not only bananas are cheap, there are hundred and one varieties of banana available here.
Even poor people can afford to have bananas.
Many people have a habit of eating one banana after heavy meals. They believe that
banana will help them in digestion.

In Malaysia, banana is quite expensive I think and the most cheapest fruit in Malaysia they called it as "rambai" and the scientific name for it is ~ Baccaurea motleyana. Talking about banana, it is calcium enriched fruit and very good for bone growth development. But, not for those who got gastric problem where they are discouraged to eat banana in large quantity and must avoid it when in empty stomach.
Just like spinach for those who got arthritis or gout problem. Spinach is good for heart's health but not good for gout and arthritis. So, a banana producse some kind of acid and increase acid level in our stomach which not a good thing to have for those having gastric problem.

There are loads of cheap fruit here in our country. Some are actually free which you can only pick or grow in your backyard. Perhaps you haven't seen some of it but there's really a lot of fruits here. Well banana, yes i agree they are cheap and we have a lot variety here. In fact, some other countries are importing it when here we only take it for granted. Well not all the time but you know when you know that you have it and seen it everyday, you tend to not like it because yo want some new taste. Anyway like i said earlier fruits here are of any variety, very cheap and some are free to pick in the woods or ask in the neighbors or pick it on our own backyard.

Apples, and here we grow such a variety of apples you could eat a different type each day for 6 years without repeating yourself. We also grow the finest apple in the world, Cox's Orange Pippin, which only reaches it's peak of aromatic excellence in our climate. Apples can often be gathered free or may be given away they grow in such abundance, unfortunately there are a lot of inferior foreign apples imported and sold at lower prices.
all the best urban

I'm from the usa but I also have to agree that bananas are one of the cheapest fruits to buy here. I buy them nearly every time I go grocery shopping because it saves me money and I like the health benefits and energy eating bananas gives you. That's cool that there are so many different varieties in India.

We have bananas which are very popular here in our area. We also have some mangoes that are so so sweet and much affordable in our locality, (the prices of the mango depends on the area here in our country. It's more affordable in Mindanao than in Luzon or in Cebu).

In my home country in the summer apples are quite cheap. We grow strawberries, raspberries and blackberries in season here. Other fruits like bananas come from tropical countries so they have to be imported over to us. I hope to visit India one day and if I do I will eat plenty of bananas.

In the south, thanks for the climate, fruits are relatively cheap. I visited canton two years ago, and i was amazed by the large variety of fruits, and cheap prices. Banana is definitely one of them. In the hilly areas, north and south, the trees planted about thirty years ago are giving good rewards. Apples and oranges are cheap there. In northwest, xingjiang in particular, grapes and sweetmelons are famous. But in our city, due to logistics and relaying costs, fruits are never really cheap. As long we can get multiple supply, i am contented, at least to try one or other from time to time. Fruits are necessary part of our diet.

In the 80s of last century, very very few fruits were available, and nothing was cheap. Then in the decades or so, all around the country, people grow fruit trees, mostly apple, pear, orange trees. By time, they are giving rewards, and the prices are getting down, neglecting inflation factors.
The cheapest fruit here is oranges. That year, the farmers had to launch promotions with help of the government to sell real cheap, even cheaper if you pick on site and arrange truck by yourself.

I never compare the price before but it just comes to my mind that in my country Indonesia, the cheapest fruits perhaps are banana and papaya. But I think it varies within the regions in Indonesia. In my place, it is easy to find papaya and banana in the surrounding environment. Therefore, they are probably cheaper because they are easy to obtained.

I like grapes, just RS100 for 2 kilos, imagine it was seedless. I wanted to scream loud hehehe! because in my own country i think it is more than 200php for a kilo of seedless grapes, and here in India, wow! it is really really cheap.
It is so sweet too, i think that i will be enjoying a lot of grape eating here Bananas are cheap too. But if there are cheap fruits here , there are expensive ones too like avocado, the very very small, unripe avocado i saw in the grocery was RS25 or 25 Php one small single piece.
About mangoes, it comes in season only, but it is also cheap and there are lots of varieties of mangoes here and they are really really big like papaya.
