HELP: Installing new themes in Vista

Hello every body!
I need help from you guys, especially those who are experts in window vista stuffs. I have been trying to change my vista looks by installing a new theme available in the internet. But majority of those installations require me to crack some files in windows system directory. I am just afraid by making this change, it will affect badly to my laptop.
Do you any suggestions on how to install theme in Vista safely (i.e. not by cracking system files etc)?

why not go to Microsoft website , it has free themes to download and it is safe. i had recently downloaded some of the windows vista themes to be used on my windows 7 beta and it works perfectly and fast. By the way, how many ram you have in your pc?
