Oh, definately. We have a list of places we want to go see with our children. My husband was stationed over in Germany when he was in the Army he wants very much to go back. We also want to take them to China, Japan, and India.
We feel it is very imporant for children to travel if at all possible because it exposes them to a variety of cultures and can help them develop compassion for all people.

That really sucks and it happens to me all the time! I went to sleep soon after I wrote my last response anyway. I'd had a long day.

As long as it is a safe place to be. I think it is more enriching actually seeing the place as opposed to just reading about it.

Yes safe is the key to this decision. I'd be excited to travel with my little one but I think I'll wait until he's a bit older though. Great avatar.

My mother and grandfather took me to Denmark when I was 8 years old (1990) and my Grandmother took my sister when she was 11 (1989). We are half Danish, and our grandparents wanted us to see our mother's homeland. We had a wonderful time when we were there. We'd love to go back some day.

That is very cool and its supposed to be beautiful there. My first marraige proposal was from a danish hydrologist. I would likely be living there now if I had said yes.

of course! since I love to travel myself, I would also want to pass this love of outdoors to my children. Traveling is not only relaxing but it is also a great way to learn and acquire wisdom. Experiencing other culture, meeting different people from around the world, can widen one's perspective. It would make one tolerant of the differences. They don't do what the "Romans" do but at least they won't insist on having their own way. In other words, traveling can make my children think logically and rationally.

And they would learn to be tolerant of a weide variety of people's and cultures. and maybe what they have and their own life would be put in perspective.

I don't know that if I had child that I would take them to other countries while they were young, but I know I benefited from going to Europe when I was in High School and College because I was old enough to be interested in the differing cultures and art that I was exposed to there. They are still some of my fondest memories.

If I had the time and money, I would take my children on a trip around the world..Its a great way to learn of other cultures and learn a healthy respect for them as well. THere is so much we do not know or only assume about foreign places. Knowledge is wisdom, and a little wisdom can go a long way.
I would love for them to see how alike people all are yet so different at the same time. They would come home I would hope with a new respect for what they have and new goals to try to achieve. They would have a better understanding and be better educated on what goes on in this world.
It would make a well rounded person to see and understand the cultures and every day life of people worldwide and not just at home.

I would definitely agree! I wish all kids could experience that.
