One of the biggest thing I hate about the NFL(and other pro sports) is how make these player make! Now that free agency is almost here, some free agents are getting greedy! Way greedy like Albert Haynesworth! He wants $12 million a year! That is nuts! Players have no idea there is a recession going on! Alot of teams in the NFL(not to mention in all pro sports!) are being affected by the recession! There will be teams who want to sign certian free agents but won't be able at afford them! I just wish alot of these selfish and greedy players wake up and realize they can still play but for less money! I can dream!

I am jealous of the salary they make. however it comes down to supply and demand. The supply of top flight players who are really capable of being stars in the NFL is very low. Think of how many guys play high school ball, then how many move on to college and the NFL.
If we were good enough, we would get the big payday too.
As for demand, look at the prices people are willing to pay for tickets, refreshments, licensed merchandise etc.

This salary problem is in MLB and the NBA! As long as the salary cap is not in MLB,I see salaries going even higher! I can see more players,in pro sports,being released or ending up as free agents because of the money they make! If one time isn't willing to pay it another team will! It is also frustrating to see prices for tickets and everything else go up at stadiums! That will be that way until people stop paying and going to games! I don't see that anytime soon!

Everything now-a-days is about the money. Players are greedy and don't appreciate the sport. If players actually played and did not become obsessed with money, sports teams would stay competitive. In baseball, the Yankees throw out millions to acquire the best players on the market. However, it hasn't worked out for them yet because since these players have been paid, they don't care about anything else.

I have long since thought the Raiders were just out of control but did you see the contract they gave to the defensive back? He is good but the contract he got sets that franchise back another couple of years, and it isn't like they could go much more towards the rear of the pack. These salaries are crazy but if I was a player I wouldn't turn any of them down.
