Hi Mylotters, here`s another question which will take you back in time. My very first memory is when i was 2 years old. I was in the city of Jaipur in India just after it became independant. I remember sleeping in an iron cradle and my mother swinging it. I also remember seeing a huge snake lying under my cradle and my mom screaming for help.I also remember running after my brother who was 5 years older than me when my dad would come back from work riding a motorbike.
My brother also used to take me to a house in the next building where a British pro boxer lived. His son who was of my age would play with us in the compond of our building. I also remember seeing lots of snakes in our compound including the venomous cobra. There was a big swamp next to our building and the reptiles would creep into the compound and sometimes into our houses. I also remember a big black dog called Inky who belonged to our British friend. He was very fierce and nobody could handle him except his owners and us. He used to come to my house and my mom would pet him and feed him. He would play with me and my brother but would bark at every body else. One day he bit someone and was put to sleep. I remember crying very much when i came to know that he would not come back again.I loved that dog very much.
The most poignant memory is when my brother drowned in an open water tank and i saw his body being fished out. I remember seeing my mother crying inconsolably when his body was taken away for cremation by my father and all the neighbours. I did not understand what had happened because i was just 4 years old and my brother was 9 years of age when he died. Please share with me any early memories of your childhood which you can remember.

I cannot imagine having memories such as yours,
To answer you question, My first memory, I think it is anyway, I think I was about 2 years old, and I had just been instructed to get ready for bed, I was following my brothers, it was a "ZAP" moment, My first thought was, What am I doing? I describe this moment as when I gained my sentient consciousness, I knew I had orders, and was following them, and headed off with my brothers to get ready for bed... That moment was always curious to me, because I am almost positive That I had never had a thought I was aware of, or a memory before that, And just the way I suddenly had a though whilst obeying an order, was very strange.
I also remember sneaking behind the couch and eating my dad's certs (a type of mint that I think has been off the market for a while now) and breaking the snowglobe :P I was a bit of a trouble maker I suppose, I also remember heading from the bathtub into the kitchen to get... I think it was a spoon, and I remember almost drowning in our bathtub, but momma saved me :) lorl thats not the way she remembers it at all lol.
Thank you, I'm smiling now, at all the good times I was given so early in my life. I wouldn't have even thought about it this evening if you hadn't asked :)

well many of them are semi or all the way traumatic, and the more traumatic a moment in your life is, the easier it is to remember, I wish it were that way for good memories too, I know I'm losing many of the good memories I have in favor of bad ones... I should write the good ones down somewhere so I don't forget.
60 plus years of memories... I hope I make it that far, If you have kids (And/or Grandkids) do you ever just sit with them and tell them about when you were small?
My grandparents don't... they live too far away. My mom does, but hers is a very depressing life, but I learn a lot from it.

I remember playing in my grandma's front yard when I was probably four or five years old with her sitting on the porch listening to Credence Clearwater Revival on the radio (or maybe it was on a tape or record...I can't really remember that part) LOL

My earliest memories would be from when I lived in California before I turned 5 hanging around with my grandparents. I have vague memories at times of back before my real dad left my mom as well, but wish there were more as well. But since a lot of my childhood is Bad memories there is a lot along the way I have chosen to block out and not remember as well.

The earliest memory I've had is when i was 3 years old.. My family would always request me to sing the ABC song, Twinkle Twinkle and other nursery songs.. they would give me the microphone and they would try to record my voice in the cassette tape and send them to my dad who's been working abroad.. then another childhood memory is when an agent came to us asking if i can do a toothpaste commercial.. actually, it happened twice and the other one was a shampoo commercial.. i was a shy type of girl then so i didn't accept the offers..

Believe it or not, my earliest memory is back when I was around 6 months old. For the longest time, I used to think it was just a recurring dream I was having until I told my mom and she covered her mouth with amazement that I remembered that moment. I remember my mom and I being in a heavily wooded area with the most beautiful grass and trees around us. We were staying in this old log cabin with one of the older style screen doors. There was an outhouse that was next to the cabin that looked like a smaller version of the cabin we were staying in but the outhouse had a refrigerator in it along with a little separate room with just a sink and toilet. There was this little older lady with short, cold black, wavy hair that I remember standing in there holding me singing "Amazing Grace" to me. She seemed to be very nice and laid-back. My mom told me that we stayed in West Virginia for the 6 months of my life and that was the place that we were staying at. The woman was the mother to the guy that my mom was good friends with. I was even amazed that I remembered that far back but every memory serves a purpose and one day I will find out that purpose.

You remember things at 2 years old? This is so amazing! I get my first memories of my childhood is that my sister was born in 1989 when I was 4 years old! My mom told me that she picked my sister in a river and I totally believed it!

i do not remember much at all before the age of 5. i can remember clearly from that point on and can even tell you in detail what the house looked like that i lived in then. i remember how to get there and my way around the neighborhood as well. we moved from there when i was about 8 years old. sad to think i cannot remember anything before the age of 5 and it makes me realize that my son probably will not remember much before that age as well.

The earliest memory I have is when I was about 3. My sister kept yelling at me. She wanted me to get her a glass of orange juice. I kept telling her no. She kept yelling at me. So, I went and got the orange juice. I brought it to her. Gave her an evil look and poured it all over her head! My parents thought it was so funny that I didn't get in trouble. They told my sister that's what she gets!

The earliest i can remember was when i was 5 years old and our house was burning. It was the starting point of our life and that incident changed our lives for the best for it is the will of God.
It was a good sunny day, i was with my mother, brother and my grand mother. Its was past 3pm that's why we are having a short nap. My mom was awake at that time and my dad was at work. Me, my younger brother and my grandmother were sleeping in one room when fire started at a neighboring school near us and all people panic.
Mom got alerted and she woke us all up. Because it happened so fast and our house has started to get the fire, she wasn't able to pack things like clothes. She picked me up, and grandma pick my brother and went outside. No appliances and furnitures left. At least we are alive, we didn't get hurt and when dad came, he fetch us and we came for shelter to a place of a friend, my father's friend. And that changed our lives since my parents came to know the Lord Jesus Christ and we became born again christians.
