To all incoming college students of B.S. Nursing and B.S. Education this 2009, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) announced that the aforementioned courses will now be a 5-year course. Their reason is that they want to improve our level of education here in our country. So it would be an additional one year for you guys. Lucky to those who are already in college or already finished their courses. You wouldn't suffer the burden for another year. But I feel sad to those who were covered by this changes. Hope that CHED would change their decision and remain the old provisions. Many parents and students are against it because of the global crisis we are encountering right now. They can't afford to extend for another year. Well, good luck and do your best always for those incoming college students. You can do it! ^__^

Oh no! That's a big disadvantage to the incoming freshman who planned way before that news came out.

Well, I think it's for their own good. It is for their future. I think CHED only wants a worldwide competitive Filipino youth in the future that's why they are implementing this. Even B.S. Accountancy turned into a 5 year course. Students have no choice but to adopt to that change. In order to improve and progress, we must undergo constant changes and get used to it. XD

Yes, i agree that it is really a good thing that i am now a college graduate... or else i would have to endure another year or studying... but then... with the way the educational system is going... i see that there is indeed a need to add another year... there are so many nursing and education graduates who barely pass the board exam... and they end up in jobs that is totally not related to what they trained for...

Very true, now a days I also noticed that our level of education is declining specially in some provinces. I think the extension was a good decision. Sometimes, change is one of the hardest things to accept. It's hard to persuade people to adopt to the changes in our society. That's one problem to us Filipinos, we tend to stick to our old traditions instead of improving ourselves.
