Are you worried about the climate changes?

Our december was hot - we usually do have the sun out, but it wouldn't be burning hot last last year. The mornings would be chilly compared to the warmer climate we experienced. It unexpectedly rained in January, and the rainfall for the rainy season itself was low. It's windy now, but it should be actually burning hot. Seriously! I'm worried... is this global warming?

i am not that worry about warmer weather because i like it hot ever since i started working outdoor graduated from university, unless it reaches more than 100 F daily with unbearable heat wave , then i probably will start to worry; Right now i have other more pressing things to worry than climate changes of one or two degree every decade like Al Gore. LOL!!!

That sure is the story in a nutshell. We should be careful in the future. The temperature rise has not only effected the penguins, but also the coral reefs - which is a feeding ground for fishes. If the fishes become extinct, so will many other aquatic animals and birds that depend on it. Also, we have seen over 13,000 species extinct in the last century - the most popular being the Dodo. If they continue to eliminate other species, it will bring about a terrible imbalance in food chains and other natural cycles. Besides the wildlife species, we are close to seeing the last of the humpback whales which the Japanese culture leads them to "hunt" 1,300 every year - and there are less than 15,000 of these whales out in the arctic oceans!

Thanks for your reply. Perhaps its not immediately evident to us, but i don't know if the rate will increase to 2-4 degrees every 10 years which will be bad... Happy mylotting.

If you look into the analysis report, they researched past few decades data till now , the overall temperature rise on earth is 4-8 degree F , so they averaged out into a decade of approximate 1-3 F , this directly causes more iceberg melting in arctic region, and warmer water temp. up the tip of north and south polar, resulted in changes in ocean water movement, and then causes another set of reaction down the chain of weather pattern around the world, making higher level of intensity in natural disaster possible in future if current trend of co2 emission is not reduced among developed nations and China. By far the most devastated effects are mainly on penguins, they loss many former habitats that built on polar icebergs for survival.

That's certainly global warming, a result of our carelessness! Climates are changing rapidly in every parts of the world. Here the winters have gotten warmer and the summer stronger, no winter as such! I remember, as a child, we used to await the chills of the winter when we got to wear woolens and did outdoor sports. Gone are those days! On the contrary, Dubai, Abu Dhabi are chilly even now. Dubai has been seeing snows! What can get more alarming! Even though, some critics attribute this to natural climatic changes, I would say that whatever it may be, we are just not doing our bit. We are selfish and doing inhuman acts and leaving behind most shameless legacy for the children. Gross!

Thanks Cambiste for the endeavor of you and your family. We are trying to do the same. I think, CFL is a must for every household and also making all the inmates conscious of the there surrounding. I wish I cold plant trees as well but that's a remote possibility here. Thanks so much and keep it up.

We are responsible for it - yes. My family has been doing whatever they can - except use of electricity for various appliances - like using CFL tubes, less use of washing machine, planting trees etc. Happy mylotting

actually I am worried about it. its quite a big thing and we have the power to change it. Thats weird about the wind though. I'm not sure its global warming,Its probably just the weather changes in the area. Its supposed to be sunny for the next week but now its going to snow for the whole week,Its just climate chnage not globalwarming.

Maybe so. Climate change happens when the temperature rises. This fact has been argued upon aimlessly for years now. Hot air due to the CO2 in the atmosphere which retains heat and does not allow it to reflect off the Earth surface, has been increasing the temperature which leads to late arrival of monsoons, colder night and hotter days - like in the deserts, and less frequent rainfalls. The winters will be colder in some places whereas in tropics there will hardly be a winter. Thanks for your time. Happy mylotting.

yes i also worried about the changes of the climate because in my country, this mounth should be have a hard rain but until this day there's only a little rain. and beside that in the noon the weather is very hot so i'm very seaty if i on the open room without an air conditioning system. yes i'm worried this is the effect of global warming. and in my country many people asked to fight this global warming started from their family. but this is not a simple job, because we have to change our habits

I agree. We should work towards it with a plan. It also requres us to make a lot of sacrifices, which many are not ready to do. It'll be a tough job. Happy mylotting. Do your best.

I was trying to start a new discussion about this and I suddenly saw this so I am goonna just respond. :D, actually everytime i watch Discovery Channel and NGC and other channels that shows us the effect of global warming and related stuff I really think about ways that I could do to help. But I guess the world is getting greener day by day even a little bit because technology is going green. :D

That's not true. Green technology isnt something most of the developing nations can afford - in fact, we're seeing more and more exploitation of coal for power plants in large countries like China and India, and the overuse of fossil fuels in USA for transportation. We wont be reaching a state where we can stop worrying anytime soon.

These past few days, the climate in our country is extremely hot but it usually rains after or before. It's not good for the body. So I am worried about this because I still want my future kids to experience a healthy environment.

Recent scientific research would indicate the climatic changes being caused due to Global warming and other effects caused due to the effects on our envoirnment. There is another group who are of the view that this is a stage that the earth goes through. In my personal opinion it is a mix of both, the stage that we have reached faster than we normally should have, because of the damage that we caused to our envoirnment by pollution, deforestation....

Yes, i've heard of these two views. The party that believes the first view is taking action, while the party that believes the latter, is ignoring things. I dont believe that the high concentration of CO2 in our atmosphere is something that should be happening - it cannot be just a "stage" Earth is going through as it's irreversible. The next "stage" would be that of the sun... Thanks for giving us your opinion. Happy mylotting.

yes i am worried about it.everythings are changing so fast these days.we used to have some chilling cold in the winter. but these days they are not like that.we used to have some good rain fall in the month of aug and sept but last year never felt it...so i guess its all because of the climate change...have you read the book "state of fear" by michel crichton...

No, i haven't read that book - I haven't seen/read Al Gore's nobel prize winning book on Global Warming either... I'll keep an eye out for that. Thanks Sunil_008

I do worry sometimes because the weather now is very different in this area than it used to be. I think that it will continue to change. Yes,I think it is global warming.

I am very sensitive to weather conditions. Before the rain, I feel the pain in my knees, and my heart feels heavy. The extremely cold the past winter was my nightmare. The bones and muscles just got stiff. I have to take medication to relieve a little bit. I was thinking about going to the south next winter so that I do not suffer the same pain, and venture the risk of stroke as one of my former colleagues had.
