Hi,
We all know that Sam Walton, founder of Wal Mart, titled his book "Made in America"
That is so ironic because practically nothing is made in America anymore. It is cheaper to make stuff overseas and it is well known that Wal Mart pressures suppliers to lower prices and costs so they go offshore.
I encourage each of you to take a paper and pen into wal mart. Go into each dept and randomly pick up a few items. Every one of them will list the country where it was made. Make a list of 100 items and the nation where it was made. Let us know how many were made in the US and I expect you will have a single digit #.
I was watching a TV show about China's economy. They interviewed a lady who lost her job at a Briggs & Stratton factory in Iowa because they closed to make the product cheaper in China. They asked her if she shops in Wal Mart and she raved about how she loved it so much that they have such low prices. Then suddenly you saw a change in the look on her face as she realized the reality of the situation.

There is a simple and yet complex answer to this problem. Americans could change the whole system if they would stop buying products made in China. It might mean they have to not buy every new gadget or toy that comes out, they might even have to pay a little more for basic goods right away but until they stop buying the products made in other countries businesses are going to keep making them there and making as much profit as they can. It is the people who control it but too many aren't willing to do anything about it.![](/Content/images/emotes/sad.gif)
