Would You Stop or Not?

If you were driving down the road and saw an accident scene, would you stop to help the person or people that were involved? To what extent would you help? Would you use your cell phone to call for help? Would you go to them and see if they were hurt? Would you perform CPR if they needed it?
I would stop and help as much as I possibly could. I am a trained CPR and first Aid Instructor, so I feel that I might be able to help save a life. Besides, if it were me, I would want someone to stop and help me out.

I would stop to help and I would do all that I could do to help. I would make any phone calls needed and if needed, do any basic CPR. Now if the person had a possible head, neck or back injury, that is a whole new ballgame. I would try to keep them calm the best I could until trained help arrived. I do not think I would touch, accept to hold a hand because that would risk them further injury. Once when I stopped for an accident the parents were in bad shape but the baby in the back seat appeared okay. The baby was screaming and I thought due to fear. The mother was pleading with me to get her baby out and I did. I had to cut the strap that held the baby's carseat in place to remove her. I held her until help arrived. Once the parents were in the ambulance, an officer took the baby from me and assured me that the baby would be okay. He put the baby over in another ambulance and I found out later, that the did test the infant, and she was okay, just scared. I also found out, that I should have just let the baby stay in the car seat because it is very difficult to determine injuries to infants. So from now on, if it arises again, I will not remove an infant from car seat unless it's life were in danger.

Hey there! Yes, I would stop and help them. What if that happened to me, of course I want someone to help me too. I would first ask them if they feel dizzy and they broke a bone I won't move them, but if they are inside the car I would drag. I would call for help. Yes, I would perform CPR if needed. I believe people should do what they can to help those who met accidents. It's a like responsibility to one another. Have a nice day. Happy posting!!

I agree, I always stop and call for help, and see if everyone is alright. I try to do what I can for whoever was in the accident, within reason. If there are severe injuries, you have to be VERY careful if you're not trained, you could very easily hurt someone worse by moving them around, even just trying to help them. I also agree that if I were in an accident, or someone I loved was in one, I would hope that someone would stop and help.

For me I should stop as a trained CPR ,First Aid ,Basic Life Support program and a volunteer on a Organization who help people on a survival stage and a Organization who serve.. so that Others may leave... so i gonna stop to help those people who needs my help.if CPR is needed I'll perform.. No matter what happens I wont leave those people if there's no paramedics arrive.

I would do the same but I never do the CPR before so I dont think I can do that. However, I would stop and help them out. Last time when I went to pick up my daughter from school and a car hit a teenager student. I went to help her, I couldn't carry her because she was too big for me and I just help carry her backpack and her cell phone to her. I asked her if she is seriously hurt, or how does she feel... so far and so on. Then I called 911 right the way. I think it is a good way to help people. I know I can't make any more than that but at least I concern.

I would certainly stop and help. At the very least call 911 if I was the first one on the scene. However I normally have my kids with me who are 6 and 3. So depending on the accident I might get out and help but I also don't trust my boys in the car by themselves for very long.
But if I was by myself I would certainly see if there was some way I could help. I'm currently taking Emergency Responder classes right now so in the future I'll have better training if I'm ever in that position.

If I was first there I would stop and assist and call 911 for police and ambulance. If there was already a crowd I would not cause a problem of too many people creating a hazard and would continue on, satisfied that they are being helped. If there are only a few people there I would use my judgement as to stopping, and of course would phone the accident in.
I have stopped in the past and rendered assistance and also phoned for help. I have also not stopped when there was already lots of people there. So I say it depends on the situation.

I would and I have before. I know that in my state,if you have ligit medical training you are required by law to offer services at the scene of an accident. I would do it anyway even if there was no law in place. I'm like you..I would want someone to help me too. I am a first responder at work and have been to a class for CPR and first aid. I get updated once a year. I would definately stop and help.

so in turn we must do the same....the gesture that we perform is the gesture we get from the others....so i would definitely do what will be possible for me to do......

Oh, I could not just drive by. I would have to stop and see if there was anything at all I could do. I would not be the answer to this person's prayers as I do not have a cell and I do not know CPR. Still I'd drive to get help if there were nothing I could do right there. it'd be just wrong to keep driving by and not do a thing unless it was apparent that they already had some help.

I would probably call cops and tell them I see an accident happen and ask them to come, because I'm not a professional of first aid or anything so I probably won't go actually help them with no knowledge in order not to hurt them.

If there is a large crowd, with traffic wagons already at sight, I would drive away to my own business, but if not, sure I should stop and call for help. A late first aid might lead to injuries, or even deaths.
Nevertheless, some people are hesitating to join in first time help, just for fearing of getting involved or wronged without other witnesses. That is understandable, but out of moral sense, I could not evade but come to the help.

I would definitely stop and call for help but not to the extend of doing a CPR thing because I don't know how hehehe... It happened to my friend in a call center. He called me up on the phone asking for help. I announced it to everyone inside the HR Department. Good thing to know that they also helped me in calling the ambulance. After then, he thanked me for that and we became best of friends :)

I am pretty sure I would stop and see if I could help. If the emergency crews were on hand then I would not. I know today a guys car brokedown outside the mall and I helped him push it across the street. I did need him out of the way to get by though. I would not feel right giving CPR as I learned that in health class 100 years ago. I would call 911 and am glad to have a cell phone just for that reason. Of course with my luck it would be an accident scen like in Pulp Fiction where everyone get out of the cars shotting the innocent people and not hitting anyone they are aiming at.
