Triond!

I'm sure this site and it's subdirectories have come up in discussion before, but I really enjoy using them. I find them way less restrictive than helium and can lead to much higher income than some of the other sites. What many people realise is the rough base rate for helium is 10 views for $0.01, but that can be increased by forum activity, popularity and commenting. On some of my articles I'm getting a 5 views to $0.01 rate which (for those who don't want to do the math) is $2 per 1000 views, quite an achievable level for a good writer with good face book, twitter etc connections. If like me you enjoy writing without having any guides set (like in helium) and enjoy hearing what people think about your work it's the place to be! www.triond.com

Having read through some of the comments, and being a member of both sites, I am going to add my own opinion here. For Triond, you do not "need to have a lot of friends within Triond" to get a lot of page views. You just need a good article. I have made it to the "Hot Content" page on Triond before, and I certainly don't have "a lot of friends within Triond" unless you count 8 friends "a lot" For Helium vs Triond comparisons, I had an experiment where I had the same article published on Helium, Triond and Associated Content and totalled the earnings over a few months. In that experiment, Triond came out first, followed by Associated Content, followed by Helium. Note that that was before Helium had it's revamp with the "no rating star, no income" rule. Since then, from the way my earnings have significantly jumped on Helium, I'm guessing that the income generated by inactive writers is being redistributed to active Helium writers. Also, since Triond claims "first rights", the article being first published at Triond might have skewed things in favor of Triond, due to search engine rankings. For "hearing about what people think about your work", I have to say that Helium is better in that aspect than Triond though. On Triond, the comments I get on my articles fall in three categories. Either they are praise for my work, they are questions asking about something I touched on in the article, or it's something along the lines of "You suck". At Helium however, I actually get responses along the lines of "line 20 is bad. I would have preferred it if...", "line 7 is good, although if it were me i would have...". There's also a forum section in Helium devoted to having people critquing your work.

Thanks for this great overview. This has given me some real insight into the difference and similarities in the sites. I also liked your experiment. I guess that is the real way to distinguish between the sites. Good luck in your writing!

Thanks a lot for giving all the info about Triond. I write for Helium regularly and i find the site really good. They do have some quality restrictions, but that's what makes it such a top class site. The earnings good too.Initially after you register ,you have to post many articles and rate regularly to get to a certain level after which it is smooth sailing and the income is regular. As for Triond, i found the site very limited and not as interesting, so gave up writing for it after a while. But after reading the discussion here, i feel that i must become more active on Triond

I only write on Triond and I know that I could earn a lot more money if I published more. I also believe you need to have a lot of friends within Triond to get the views, as well as the Facebook, etc. connections. I posted before about this asking that anyone who is on Triond to make themselves known and I will add them as a friend so I will see their work, and they in turn would make me a friend so they would see mine immediately upon publication. I only had a few people contact me on Triond. If you would like to connect with me over there, tell me your user name. You can look for me under my pen name Mary Patricia Bird. I will definitely add you as a friend. Then we can help each other!

Hi Spook, I too write for Triond and have been doing so for quite awhile now. I wrote for Helium but didn't like it that much. Triond is different and although I don't see it a great money making site, it could be a sounding board for anyone serious about writing. Blessings.

ya its a good site that i even use. i like that you can make alot of money by having it viewed. one thing that i want to try is conneting it to a trafic site to see it it will make me more money. i dont know if it would work, but it would be cool if it did. i like that i get more money for it with less views.

I have published some articles on triond for close to a year. I certainly enjoy publishing on this site. It's fun that we aren't restricted to a small number to topics that we can publish on.

I have been spending a lot of time on Helium and I'd love to hear more about the differences between the two sites. I signed up for Triond, but have yet to write anything for them. I like Helium because they come up with the topics and I don't have to think them up myself. Why do you think Triond is better? How were your earnings on Helium compared with Triond. I know that you have broken it down in terms of actual value per view but how long would it take you to reach payout on Triond vs. Helium? The main thing for any writer is to do what works best for them. Sometimes a site just works better with our own personalities. For example, I write for Associated Content as well as Helium, but to me, Helium just seems easier, even though the money is better over at AC. Good luck with your writing. Maybe I'll have to give Triond a try.

judgeing by some of the other responses your question has been throughly answered!

I have received 2 payouts from Triond - total just over $1. I have received 7 payouts from Helium around $100 each time. Obviously I have written far more at Helium. I think Triond requires keeping up with popular culture and knowing what's 'hot'. Helium provides more long term income. Profitable topics like personal finance can earn dollars every month, and seasonal topics like Valentine's day will earn money for a few weeks each year. The more I write at Helium, the more upfront payments I get from my writing stars. As long as I keep using Helium I continue to earn daily revenue with my rating stars.

I will check it out thank you. I have been on Helium for a couple of years, and just finally got my first writing star on there. I also have not made enough in 2 years to even cash out, so any way I can find to help me earn more there would be great, so I will definately look in to this site.

I prefer Associated Content myself, but I do have a couple of articles on Triond as well. I have not tried Helium at all yet, but have considered it. I love to write. The perk to Associated Content is that you can get paid up-front for your work, and make money based on how many views you have.

Helium has just started paying up front if you have a writing and rating star. They pay 50 cents an article for one star, $1 for two stars, and so on. This is in addition to page views payment. Of course, Associated Content is still better with upfront payment, but I thought you might want to know about this new development at Helium. Good luck with your writing!

I love AC. I have done a lot with them even paying taxes for my 1099 looks like that will happen again this year in less than a month. I'm on helium and triond. I have a writing star and a rating star on helium so how do you get paid the 50 cents for an article? Haven't seen that happen yet. Of course I only have 13 articles on there. Triond isn't working for me at all. I put two articles on there and although the payout was significant for the page views, I am finding that Associated Content works the best for me. Let me know how the Helium payout works for submitting articles though.

I did try Triond but quickly gave up - it just wasn't worth my time. At the moment, I'm doing articles for Helium and Suite 101 but mainly concentrating on sites like constant content, where I can bis for better paid jobs. My fave site is DooYoo, even though people keep nominating me for crowns that I don't get!

I joined Triond nearly a month ago, and have enjoyed it. I wasn't sure if I could write anything that people would want to read, so this was a good way to find out. I haven't put much on there yet - I think my total earnings so far have reached $0.35, so I definitely need to find a way to get more views! Have though about AC and Helium, but haven't plucked up courage to do anything about it yet, besides, I got side-tracked here. If anybody would like to see any of my work, my link is under the daffodil on my profile page.

I've been on Triond for nine months. Admittedly I've only posted five articles, twelve photos and one video - but even so $0.34 doesn't seem like much reward for my efforts! Of course it depends what subjects you write about and how much traffic you can attract. I haven't completely given up on them, though - the best thing is that you can write about pretty much anything you like. I just wish they had a more effective system for promoting their contributors' work - it's too difficult to do it all by yourself.

Triond is the best website I have ever joined! Before I joined Triond, I was a part of Associated Content and Helium. Associated Content was alright, but I eventually got bored with that site. Then, I joined Helium. I was so confused on how to use Helium, so I gave up. Then, I came to know the site Triond. To me, Triond is very simple and easy to use.
