What are tags used for?

I don't get the whole prupose of having tags. I just don't get it. Someone please help me out, what are tags really used for?

they are used to filter ur discussions under the tag that u give...it is made easy to browse ur discussion under that tag

Tags are used to help people find your post in a search. For example, if you tagged the word "banana" in this post, and somebody was looking for something about bananas, your post might come up in that search. Remember that there is a list of Frequently Asked Question on MyLot for anything else you don't understand. Hope that helped!

Think of it as a huge database of discussions and the tags are used to organise it somehow; 'indexing'..
