With myLot it's all or nothing..

I used to spend hours each day posting and responding to discussions on myLot, but recently I haven't been here too much. ..Well, I've still been here most days (it's hard to stay away..), but just not for very long.
And then today I've had a bit of a myLot splurge. A posting frenzy.
As it's the weekend and my husband's at home, I've been spending much of my waking hours here - as well as several when I should have been sleeping. Yes, it's now 2:45am and I'm still here; when I could be catching up on beauty sleep! I haven't had a mad, late-night myLot session like this for quite a while, and while I'm having a ball I need to make sure this doesn't become a habit (again!!)
For me either I spend hardly any time here or I'm here all the time! How about you, do you live, eat and breathe myLot, or are you an occasional dabbler? Are you an extreme user like me, or do you myLot in moderation??

I'm a mylot in moderation,It takes way to long to post messages all the time. I find its easier to use mylot in moderation then all the time. And you get your money with time instrad of constintly posting and sitting behind the computer.

I'm glad that you're able to myLot in moderation. That's a good skill to have, lol! It sounds like you have a very good attitude.

Same here!
Since the beginning of the year my offline work has slackened off and I'm here a heck of a lot now, pratically all day every day.
Keeps me out of mischief being here though

Yes, it's sooo hard to keep away! I have some things to do during the week which keep me busy usually, but this weekend has been pretty free, so - here I am again, lol! I'm glad it keeps you out of mischief though. That's important.

Very important at my age (so they tell me)
Been told so many times that 'at my age I should know better by now'

I just cannot keep myself awake and be here for sharing my experiences and thoughts at the cost of a good night's sleep. I love to sleep and go to sleep at the scheduled hour. Firstly, I dispose of my pending work and other important tasks and thereafter, if I find time, I come here to enjoy myself. However, when I am here and tempo gets going, I do not feel like going from here, till I feel tired. I have observed that if time is at our disposal, we can work here for hours together, without getting bored.

Yes, I can certainly stay her for hours given the chance! I'm glad that you value your sleep enough to stay away at bed time, and that you have your priorities sorted out!

For awhile I was living, eating and breathing MyLot, but I am no longer so obsessed with it and have become more of a moderate user now. I only respond to the occasional discussions that capture my interest, and only by people that are on my friends list... I never search through all the discussions anymore as that always left me mind-numbingly bored and pretty disenchanted with entire human race. I feel a lot saner now, hehehe

Hehehehe.... funny you mention caffeine in relation to MyLot! My daughter is super sensitive to 'hyper' energy and I am not 'allowed' to call her when I have been drinking coffee (sometimes I try to trick her and call anyway with a 'relaxed' tone to my voice, but she always knows and says "Have you been drinking coffee????") I'm also not 'allowed' to talk about MyLot with her!

Hi there, yes, that's how it felt; as if I was living my life around myLot, lol! It always made me feel as if I was buzzing, a bit like I was high on caffeine. I'm glad you've been able to make the transition to being a moderate user, that sounds much more healthy. I also feel as if my life has become a bit more balanced now, and slowed down a bit, if you know what I mean. (I think you probably do..)

Thanks for your answer. I think that the demand for part-time computer work is very high, especially on sites like myLot! Mabye try one of the freelancing sites, like getafreelancer.com or oDesk.

Yeah I am mostly active all the time here in Mylot but this was the first time when I was inactive for last 3-4 days here as I was out of station but when I came back I saw my account is set to inactive. Now I don't know how to set it to active or how to contact Mylot about this..

Personally for me, I can Truly relate. There are many times I have been known to spend a lot of a day in here posting away and having a Great day. Usually on my days off which are Sunday and Monday, most of the things you will find me doing besides Sleeping or attending Church is either eating, or posting here in myLot. I know that this is a Great place for meeting people and learning a lot about other things from each other, so it can happen for all of us as well. All I can say is learning to do it in moderation is what it usually seems to take, but Wishing you the Best as well.

Thanks KrauseHome. Yes, I think that on most days not having the time to be here much is helping me keep my life in balance a bit! Like I say, when I have the time I am on here spending silly amounts of time, but luckily that doesn't happen too often now. (Even though I love it on here and agree it's a great place for all the things you say). But you're right, when I do have time to burn here, I need to find that moderation, and not just rely on other things keeping me too busy to be here.
I hope that made sense, I'm typing in a bit of a frenzy as I have some non-myLot things to do.. Take care.

Good for you to find the moderation. But I note that you still find it quite an addictive place to be! Have fun.

Hmm, that sounds like a very healthy attitude to have. I'm glad that you've come to this conclusion. I need to also reach that conclusion when I have free time. I know that there are so many other things I could be doing, and probably less stressful too. The other things in my life are keeping me off here a lot more than before, but when I'm on here I need to control the compulsiveness to stay on here!! Maybe some soul-seaching is what I need too..

I recently started a similar discussion in which I asked how long could you STAY AWAY from mylot, and my answer was not for very long! There are days hen I can do more here than others, but since signing on, I can't say I've had a whole day away. It's just so much fun, even if I can only do a few postings and know that I'm not earning much. It's still all in good fun for me, and it seem to be the same with you! Have a great day (or night?)

Yes, good question! I can't stay away for very long. Even the days when I'm not on here for much, I'm still on here, lol! When I want to stop, you can always guarantee that I'll catch a glimpse of a discussion that interests me, and just have to share my opinion on and read what other people think...
You have a great day/night too!

Hi liquorice.I'm a new member in mylot,I just signed up a few days ago.I'm interested in mylot ,and I hope I can improve my english level though mylot. But,I'm a posting frenzy, everyday,I just come here to look through the discussions ,then choose the topics I like (about 2 or 3topics)and post my responses.I don't want to be an extreme user,in my opinion, mylot in moderation is the best.I hope I can persist in this regular pattern.Mylot everyday, but not a long time.

I've only just started here yesterday so I can't tell yet. I made 27 cents yesterday which I guess isn't too bad considering I only spent about an hour here and made a few posts.
The real danger is tomorrow when I get to work. If this site makes it through our firewall then I'll be posting all the time...

Yep, you sound like you're doing good. I wonder if the site did make it through your firewall. Yes, that might just get a bit too tempting, lol! Thanks for answering. And happy myLotting!

Welcome to myLot! Yes, it may fast become and addiction! Luckily it's not a harmful one, (unless you count vast amounts of your day disappearing harmful...)
Happy myLotting!

I am the same way. I seem to spend a ton of time here or none at all. I go through phases. I enjoy my lot but I enjoy it a lot more when people are posting quality posts.

I'd like to think that I'm a moderate mylot user. i go here on mornings and nights but only do 6-10 responded per sitting. So in a day I earn very little but I like knowing that I earned something in a day, even if it less than a dollar. I used t be here all the time. But then I go tired of it so now I don't mylot 24/7 anymore. I'm also starting to go back to writing reviews which earn me more money. :)

Yes, it sounds as if you're a moderate myLot user, and you know when to stop, lol! I also used to be here all the time, but now I don't get so much time, and that makes the decision for me. I also used to write reviews (where do you write? I did reviewstream), but sadly don't get too much time for that either.
Thanks for your answer.

Yeah I know what you mean. For me it is the same way. Either I am on here it like I am on here for hours just posting and posting. Then when I am not on here it is hard to say away.

I used to be an addict mylot user but when our smart bro connection was disconnected two weeks ago, i don't have much time to visit mylot anymore.. i'm currently using my hubby's PDA phone to connect to the internet(I use it as a modem to go through my favorite websites) but the speed of the connection isn't fast as the previous one so i need to wait for 30 seconds and more before the page fully loads.. i hate it! plus, it's more expensive as i need to reload my phone everyday..

How annoying about your connection. I wonder if it's making you less addicted to myLot if it's so slow and annoying to use? Maybe it's a good thing to break the addiction a bit, but not everyone will agree, lol! Thanks for your answer gracie.

hello liquorice,
I also spend time with mylot this morning. I slept at 3am just to post here at mylot. i also lots of catching up to do. I'm quite far from my minimum payout.
But usually on a daily basis, I just try to post 10 or more discussions each day.
Happy myLotting.

I totally agree with you! I have the same idea. I usually earn .70 cents per day (by making a million discussions and a million or so responses), or I don't come on at all. I have no idea how to work the "moderation" thing, especially with MyLot. =[

Yes, it's so hard. I'm either limited in my time, which kind of makes the decision for me to not be on here much. Or else I come on, thinking it will just be for a bit, but then I get reeled in and I stay. And stay! I'm impressed by all the people who say that they just do a few discussions and then stop.
