Has Mylot gotten a bit cold or what?

I have been back on mylot (albeit not often) since December 08 and for some reason I just keep getting this vibe that mylot has gotten a bit cold.
For the most part the stalking and trolling ect... that were common complaints before my long absence have really gotten much less. Now that is good. But the harmony and sort of rapour I felt when I first joined just seems to be not as strong as before.
I have read a few discussions about active and upstanding members as well as some not so pleasant mylotters losing their accounts. Could this have something to do with the mood around here?
Is it just me or does anyone else feel the damp cold spirit that is seeping in on mylot? Yes we discuss etc etc but something is missing.
I have noticed too that there are fewer desirable discussions to respond to.
I keep wondering if maybe what I am experiencing is that feeling you get when you return to a place you longed to return to only to find that that place had lost some of its great character with the passage of time.
Again... Is it just me or can you sense it too? The cold mylot mood.

MyLot is a great place to have fun, but going from a small town to a big city always causes problems. You just have to be selective about the people you hang with.
I have met many nice people, and like life, they come and go. If you prefer to dwell on the negative then that is what you will see, when I see people complaining about other mylotters, I just go on to a different discussion and participate in discussions I like.
I only have friends on mylot

I dont get the comment about the problem of going from a small town to a big city but whatever that means being a member for a little over a year now I became used to a certain mood here which I liked inspite of all the negatives which were taking place some time ago. It was still fun and engaging being here. That factor is still present no doubt but just not so strong anymore.
Certainly I have not gotten attached to any other mylot member not even to the point where I respond to all their discussions. I simply get on here and get engaged in reading, responding and starting discussions whichever tickles my fancy at the time. Even though I am only on here for short periods and not very often I have sensed a definate change in mood here.
Its really not like before. I dont think that sensing and mentioning a change of mood is dwelling on the negatives either but I guess we all process things differently.

I'm not sure about the cold mylot mood because I'm a newbie. I was referred here by a close friend this February. and so far I get to see great discussions and some are bad lol... on some I encountered really angry discussions and arguments... some are understandable though but some are uhm unpleasant...
the positive thing I got in mylot is that I get to learn new things and situations I've never yet encountered...
anywayz, if mylot had changed recently then I hope it will get better for you tjades... a blessed day to all ^_^ xox

Hard for me to say it since I have been active on mylot just this year, what I noticed was people complaining about not having lots of responses on their discussions and problems of being bad rated and loosing starts. But for the rest it seems such a nice place to stay here.

Hi deborha . Yep... those complaints are a longstanding part of mylot as far as I can see. The complaints are not even as loud and frequent as it was sometime ago but somehow the atmosphere was still more engaging back then.
I guess things change and the mood here is no exception. I am not a great conversation starter if we go by the discussions I've started here since joining so the number of responses to my discussions dont surprise me. Most of my discussions get very little responses and the star ratings dont bother me much. I have gotten used to that but there's just something a bit different in the mood here.
Oh well... Happy mylotting and Im happy you're enjoying it here.

Hi gvaisakh. Best wishes to you too. I am happy you are enjoying yourself here so far and I hope it continues to get better for you.
My main concerns are the quality of the posts and the general dull cold mood I sense creeping into the site. Its good that you have experienced differently . Happy myloting.

I feel that way too.
Nothing against anybody, I just feel like the happy vibe just isn't there anymore and there are lesser and lesser discussions starting than usual.
It feels like alot of people aren't really active anymore.
I hope it doesn't stay like that for long. Because mylot is supposed to be a happy cheerful place for everybody! :)

I agree with you well the one who refer me on this site told me that this is so because of those people being deleted here without a warning and to be honest I liked this site but some are just cruel.Aside from being a low paid site few discussions are available for us to start discussing. This may be one of the reason why this site has lost lots of good members.

Oh dont get me wrong tim. Mylot is a great place to be. Since finding this site on the web and joining I have really become attached to it. As a matter of fact I have only heard of other discussion sites. Never seen or ben on any other.
I love it here but there's just something different about the mood. You will no doubt find discussions that appeal to you. For me its just not as much as it used to be. Now I have to search a longer before I find something I want to respond to.
Welcome to mylot and happy mylotting.

Well, I can understand what you feel, but I cannot confirm it surely.
Due to my time constraint, I can be so active on Mylot as I was before. I can just time by time visit here, respond here and there, and leave. Some old friends said that they are not so 'posty' either on Mylot. I think it's also because nowadays more paid forums are running and we get nice earning also there. So the paid forum posters have to manage their time to be able to post on those forums. Just my 2 cents

I've only been on mylot since october... Personally I like it here, and I don't really know what it was like before your absence, so I really can't give you any kind of accurate answer :( sorry.
But I think it's hottest on the political board, seriously its like flames going on there :P lorl I don't think there is as large of a friendship base on here as some sites...

I joined in February of 2009, so I guess I wouldn't really know about the difference..But to me, for the most part, people are friendly and welcoming here - much moreso than at other PTP sites. I like a lot of the people here & have made a lot of friends so far. :)
People seem to only be disrespectful in the sense that they're arguing over politics, the economy, and religion. :/
