Have you ever thought your life was far better off without cell phones?

Many people now-a-days can pass a day skipping 3 meals, but can't live a minute without a cell phone. I for one, have been managing to resist using a cell phone for myself, so far successfully, even though every other one in my family owns one. Yes. Cell phones are pretty useful. I don't deny it. But my personal opinion is that they are the greatest time and energy wasters of today, and by far the worst peace killers of the present day. At least, in India, from where I write, cell phones are the most overused and abused gadget on hand. Do any one of you share my crooked view? Do you think your life could be better off without cellphones? Were those yester-years when cell phones were not invented better and peaceful days? Can you ever manage to live without a cell phone hereafter?

I used to think that before but not anymore! I had an old mobile phone back then, you could only really use it to make calls! However, my thinking has changed now and this is a result of having picked up a new mobile phone that has a camera and video ability on it, ok! I'm just starting to catch up with technology!! On a serious note, I think that mobile phones are worthwhile as I guess they are absolutely invaluable when it comes to emergency situations. I think that mobile phone technology will continue to move on and progress regardless. Andrew

Sure. Technology will move on. But at times I think, because of cell phones, even non-emergency situations are now hyped up to be emergency situations on account of instant communication.

Yup buddy you have corrrectly said that now a days, one can live without a meal,,but not without mobile. The increasing popularity of a mobile has lead to its necessity in life.Today, everyone has become a cell addict.Cellphones are sometimes handy but also a wastage of time in most of the cases..!! This not only mean for others but also for me,,Even i am a cellphone addict and cant live without messages and games..!!

My cellphone is very useful. But not on its basic uses. I use my phone for music more than sending text messages. The multimedia features of my phone is the reason why I bought it. I know that I can use it for communication by default so I chose the one with the features I want on a cheap price. I really love music and my phone is just right for it. But then I can live without a cellphone. There's a time before when I don't have a cellphone (when my first phone was lost) for months and I lived. :) There are many other ways to listen to music from anyway.

My daughter too, like you, bought a cell phone model with special features for music, as she loves good music. But I always keep telling her -- If you keep on loving what you love for too long, does it not become a hate a bit sooner? My father keeps seeing TV for hours together. When he switches off, I feel a real bliss!

I think perhaps cell phones have cut down on the amount that families can talk to each other in person, as people are more likely just to send a text message instead. I know that if I ever want to have a chat with a friend or family member I will more than likely send them a text message rather than call them or go round to their house and see them in person. Perhaps it is giving us less communication skills.. who knows.

well if we would think life before without cellphones maybe all of us can really live life without it. but now, cellphones are becoming a necessity already. like me, i can really say that i cant live without anymore now. especially when my husband is away and with the kind of business i have. cellphones are really important.

ya thats really true that now-a-days it is really very hard to pass even a minute without a cellphone.if cellphones are useful at the same time they are a waste of time and energy. if i dont want to tell someone about my whereabouts even though i am helpless as my detective is with me. your life is no more yours. your closed one can trap you anytime and how many times you can lie to them. you have to tell them the truth of your whereabouts.cell phones have a very bad impact on your hearing power.and some time back we have also heard of a research that cellphone are very much prone to heart deseases also. so i can say that our life was far better off without cellphones.

Well I probably could live without one to be honest, im hardly ever using my mobile phone, i only really use it to keep in touch with friends and family by texting and calling, and receiving texts and calls aswell as going on messenger. Also, when i go out and about with either friends and family, i take my phone with me so people can get in touch with me, and see how i am, as you never know what could happen, i feel safer with a mobile phone with me aswell, and i like taking photos and videos with it :)
