I recently installed something, i remember it came bundled with ask toolbar. Later i uninstalled that program along with the ask toolbar.
But since then when i go to websites, sometimes if the site is not available or sometimes even if the site is fine it redirects to ask.com sponsored search results.
I tried installing the ask toolbar again and then uninstalled, but still the same.
I even sent mail to one of ask.com's department but they didn't reply. How do i stop this redirecting. It is really annoying ??

i think it is better to change some settings in "about:config" section but be sure it will make your firefox bad if you change some important settings.

go to control panel and check in add/remove programs if the ask.com toolbar is installed... if its there then remove it..
check in your firefox toolbars and remove this toolbar...
the last option would be re-installing your firefox
thank you

You might have installed recently some software, which contains the ask.com set up. In the set wizard or installation wizard, a check box will be there to ask us the permission whether to install or not? Most of will put tick mark on the check boxes without reading the content. That's why it is happening like this. The only way is to uninstall the recently installed software and also removing the ask.com tool bar in the add or remove programs, and the installing the software without checking that option. To find out the respective progtram, you try to run again by carefully reviewing each step, if you have installed more than one software. Then after finding the corresponding software, you can uninstall. Don't forget to retstart after installation or uninstalltion.
