Any tub-thumpers out there?

Hey everyone, just wondering if there are any drummers/percussionists out there who are willing to share they're influences and experiences with us?
Are you a solo artist or do you play in a band? Any memorable gigging experiences? Or ones you can't wait to forget?
Do you feel as I do that drummers and percussionists are often overlooked when compliments and accolades are given to artists/bands?

I do human beatbox. I have never played a drums et before but I already tried bongos Me and my friend, we have made a two man band. My influences when it comes to percussions / drums are hip-hop, punk, techno and acoustic rock.
