Sick and tired and quiet

The common cold - The common cold, which has settled into the eyes, along with the runny nose

Okay, I know that for most of you, that last one doesn't quite fit me, but right now, it's true. I have been quiet the past few days, at least online. I haven't spent that much time on the lot nor have I bothered to blog or do much else online. I'd like to, but the light of the computer screen is driving me bonkers. I have a cold. Not usually that big of a deal but this time it has settled in my eyes, making it hard to look at the screen for very long, which means I have not been here to pester you all they way I'd like to It's been a long time since I've had a cold settle in my eyes, and I had forgotten how much of a bother they can be. However, I will survive and be back to pester you normally soon When is the last time you had a cold that made your eyes water so badly that you hated to open them?

I'm going through that exact thing now and it makes it very uncomfortable to see the screen on the computer, television or see anything else for that matter, in fact for the last couple of weeks I've been suffering with it and my eyes are even blurry so it makes it very hard to read anything also. ;)

It normally happens to a lot of people especially in the beginning of the year. I think the changes in the climate makes us sick. The last couple of days I too caught a terrible cold with running nose and slight temperature. The virus is attacking my whole body and make me feel very uneasy and weak. The doctor gave me strong dose of medication and slept the whole day cos of the side effect of the medicine. The medication responded well and I recovered quite fast. I understand when you are not feeling well we are bound to loose our interest in the net. I am one of those who avoid the computer when I am down and out.

I still had interest in the net, it just was too painful to look at the screen. But, I feel better today and I'm sure that after a nice Nyquil night I will feel better still

I think I would rather have this cold! I broke my wrist years ago and had to wear a cast for a month, I couldn't believe how itchy my skin could get so I don't envy you your itch. Get healed quickly

Poor baby, rj!!! You need some chicken soup! Or grilled cheese and tomato soup! That's my particular favorite comfort food when I'm sick. But I've never had a cold settle in my eyes like that. At least, maybe not......but that was probably before I got my computer too.......because I've had colds that have made my eyes water terribly...or was that allergies? Hmmmm. What makes MY eyes water is biking in the cold! I know that you, you lucky devil, don't have to worry about that particular thing, but oooooh rj, it gets frigid here and my watering eyes cause my cheeks to freeze! Now, however, I've got cycling glasses and they help tremendously. Now. Crawl under the covers, snuggle in, and drink that soup!

it has been a while since i have had a cold, mostly when i was younger. but if my eyes hurt when i am at the computer, i just take a break and to back to the computer wearing my sunglasses. it helps. my sunglasses are prescriptive anyway. but my eyes dont hurt anymore.

i had that kinda cold a few times. its like the cold settles in the sinuses or near the eyes. its painful to be out in heavy light or certain spectrum's of light. it goes away but the pain is sometimes unbearable. i'm glad you brought this up because it happens to only a few people when sick. to some its like a hangover but its a cold. i hope you get better. change the tint and contrast/brightness on the tv. dim the pc light or brightness and you'll be ok. have to wait till your eyes can get adjusted to the lights again and your cold subsides.

Yes, the light can be extremely painful I used to get these colds all the time when I was younger, but I haven't had one like this in a long time. I feel pretty good today though so maybe it's going away

I'm sorry I didn't see this yesterday but I wanted to wish you a quick recovery. Try some lemon water mixed with apple cider vingar and molasses. It helps to clear the chest, nose, and throat. Namaste-Anora

Hey fwidman! Awwww! I hope you feel better! And I love your new shoes! I could never dare wear anything like them, but damn they are gorgous for someone! I know what you mean! That is sort of a sinus problem when it settles in your nose and eyes! I have a bad sinus infection myself and haven't been feeling too well either. Just rest your eyes. Stay off the computer and stay away from the tv too! Get lots of rest and we will see you when your eyes stop watering!

I am sorry to hear that you don't feel good my friend. I haven't had a cold in a long time. And I hope I am not going to get one now. I don't need any bad luck. I know how you feel, a cold in your eyes, make your head hurt, make your nose hurt. Just take care of yourself and hurry back I miss those heels of yours.

The last time i've had bad colds was six months ago.. it was really terrible.. it didn't allow me to do things that i used to do before like going through my favorite websites, going out, etc.. i've had to stay at home and take the meds my doctor prescribed to me.. now, i'm taking lots of vitamin c to boost my immune system.. i don't want to get a bad cold ever again!

I know the feeling well. I had a slight cold and thought I'd gotten rid of it but a few days later it came back with a vengeance I'll just keep taking cold meds and get lots of rest until it gives up and goes away

The last time i have a cold is two months ago. My eyes is itchy and red, my nose is clogged and runny. I have a mild headache and i do cough sometimes. But i took some medicine for colds and drink a lot of fruit juices and water so that i will be feeling better. And my husband take good care of me too. I do like to sleep more when i have a cold. And i really don't want to drink cold water and so what i get was hot or Luke warm water.

It was nice that your hubby took good care of you I don't like cold water much either, I'd rather drink my water with coffee and warm or hot
