Looking for a book from my youth

Ok I am looking for a book but can't remember the title. My grandmother gave it to me when I was little and it was written back in the 60's or 70's and was about two kids either on an island or in seacoast town and the townspeople were all afraid of this witch who lived there and lived at some cove so the kids went looking for her. THe cover had a picture of the two kids walking away from a dark creepy house and a green witch up in the left hand corner. I remember it was creepy looking cover but I loved the book and read it twice. In one of my many moves I lost it and can't remember the title. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Hello mollyrose. I am sorry that you lost the book that your grandmother gave to you and it is hard for you to remember the name of the book. In spite of your detailed information about the book, I am still sorry that this book seems to be new to me. But anyway, I wish you good luck to get to know the answer from some other responders to this discussion. Take care, friend.
