But have you ever known anyone that was murdered? I just found out today that I now do know someone who's been murdered. A friend of mine had a neighbor that used to hang out with us all the time. Just recently this woman moved to another state and last week her husband brutally murdered her. This lady was so sweet and such a pleasure to be around. It's really devastated us that knew her. Some of the family and friends knew that the husband was unstable, but he was acting much better right before the move so they thought the change was going to do him some good. It's very unfortunate because we don't really even know if the husband has realized what has happened or if he did this in a delusional state.

I think there are many times in our lives when we think "Oh, it'll never happen to me" and for the most part I think that's true. It's very sad though, when it does happen.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Its one thing to lose someone who has been ill, but it just doesn't seem right to lose someone because they were murdered. I lost a cousin many years ago. She was out jogging and was brutally murdered. It was quite a shock!

It is something we never think will happen and it's so devestating when it does.

Yes I know a couple of people that was murdered and they were close to me (family).
It is a very bad thing to have to go through. It takes time you never forget it and it is constantly on your mind. You just have to try to live with it and get on with your life.

Yes, I know that with some time we will all be able to put this behind us. It is very shocking and upsetting, but we do need to move on from it.

I am sorry to hear about your friend. I have not personally known anyone that was murdered. However, I did know two people that ended up taking their own lives in January of this year. It was a very hard thing for their family and friends. I hope that your friends family will be able to manage.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm sure it's very devastating to have a friend/family member take their own life also.

Sorry for the loss of your friend. It is so sad when someone else takes life of a family member or friend. Yes, I know two people who have been murdered. The first one was a family member. My great-uncle was stabbed 36 times, I belive, in his own home. They have yet to catch the person who did this to him. And then when I was in high school one of my friends was shot in a drive-by shooting. That was such a tragic event because my friend was only in his teens.

That is horrible. I don't know why people have to do things like that.

Sorry for your loss. I know how difficult it is to have lost a loved one or friend to murder. I have seen it happen so many times. I have quite a few family members, close friends as well as friends that this has happened to and you sit back and ask why this happened and why this occured.

It is so nonsensical. We're all having a difficult time trying to wrap our brains around it. And for it to be a loved one that caused it....

I didn't know him personally but I had a great Uncle that was murdered. He was seeing a young woman who was also being pursued by another man. In a fit of jealousy, the other man killed my great Uncle. His story makes the rounds of the true crime magazines every once in a while. Upon being interviewed later, the young woman said that she never loved either one of them. The man who killed my great Uncle was the great Uncle of a famous football star. Small world, huh?

That is bizarre. It's unfortunate that the woman was so flippant about it. I mean they both cared for her.

It concerns me that I can actually say yes, I do know someone who has been murdered. a co-worker of mine was found in his burned apartment at first everyone thought was an accident. but after the smoke was cleared, the police found out that he was actually tortured and murdered. and then his apartment was lit of fire to cover up for the murder. he was only 20something.
he was this enigmatic person that everybody just loved to hang around with. he was so full of life and he always had a ready smile for everyone. it's sad that he had to leave this way.

Oh that is awful too. It's so very sad when people are taken from us so brutally at the hands of another human being.
