Do you still want Arroyo's regime past 2010?

Rumors have been going around that Arroyo's camp is going to do all it takes to keep GMA seated past 2010 and that there won't be an election for that year. If this should happen, I would seriously think that this is a violation in democracy.

Well, you are not in the Philippines so you wouldn't feel the difficulty so much as you probably would if you were here. It's hell here in the Philippines.

LOL. I think they'll call it by another name to avoid confusion of the numbers. Either name it People Outrage. Or President Overkill. Whatever. LOL

If it would qualify, I remembered that there already was an EDSA 3. It just wasn't recognized because of the questionable intentions and motives behind it.

I guess we need a fresh new government because we are not moving from where we are right now. The present administration is so much entrenched in their seat that they do not want to move. I think we need to have a fresh new good government by 2010. It is but natural that the present administration is moving towards that move since until now they do not have the proper people to let run for the next president. The popular choices right now mostly comes from the opposition and the only name I hear from admin is Noli De Castro.

I think Noli is good as far as we all can see. But we'll never know. GMA used to look good too. The problem with Noli is that he can still be influenced by the GMA camp and he'll only be finishing what GMA started, both her good and her bad.

For as long as Noli is not able to detach himself from the present administration, his integrity will always be in question.

I think enough is enough. Surely we have seen that there are lot of things going on like corruption and cheating within the arroyo administration. Hopefully there will be a change.

No. Plain and simple. She's one of the most corrupt politicians of our time. Her terms have been plagued by scandals and corruption. Everyone knows that she and her cabinet are corrupt and I think that if she were to extend her regime past 2010, all hell will break loose here in our country.

There's really no way of telling whether all these issues against her are real or just black propaganda by the opposition. Whatever it is, she still shouldn't stay anymore.
• Philippines

There's a lot of hard evidence of the current regime's corruption. If there was just some strong action against the people who are behind the scandals then there there would be less problems in our country.

I really wish Philippine Politics isn't that dirty. Going down by at least one notch in corruption might be a big help already. But seems to me we can never accomplish that.

Yah it is a violation but they can always do things to make their plans and dreams a reality. I just hope people will be vigilant enough so they could stop whatever violations the present administration will do just to stay in power. Personally I prefer to have a new President for our country.

I think that no matter how vigilant we try to be, the ploticians both admin and opposition can still manipulate things up there. People have grown tired of caring. But i definitely want another president too for 2010.

No, not anymore. I am not really satisfied with her performance and the anomalies thst she and her family were involved in just made her public image worse. Our country really needs a leader that the people will respect and look up to.

Hello aiza! I will strongly disagree if GMA would be the president this 2010. I haven't seen any changes and there are lots of things happen. I guess she should give others to run and country and give us hope for progress. Majority of people doesn't want her anymore and the law here is only for 2 terms and no more than that.

GMA is a very intelligent woman, and I believe she has done a lot of helpful projects. But her regime is filled with controversies and anomalies that if she stayed longer, more trouble will come so she'd rather really leave her seat.

I don't think she will stay beyond 2010. She already has an idea what the masses can do if she will stay on her position. Besides, she and family got more than enough from the people. Filipinos are now smart to choose and decide for the betterment of this country, a saying goes: "one is enough, two is too much".

I'm just so sick of Arroyo that I want change to happen in the next elections. Now, if she is still in position past 2010, I really would have to agree on your point that she just violated democracy.

A lot of violations on our democracy have been made over the last few years really. I'm glad we've gone through all those trials. Finally, we'll be smarter and wiser voters on 2010.

Hello! Its not a rumor anymore because PGMA's minions have started actions to keep Arroyo beyond 2010. Just take a look at the House of Representatives and Enrile. They are trying desperately to push charter change to either extend the term of PGMA or make her prime minister if they are successful in shifting to parliamentary form of government. Some of our respected journalists here in Philippines also think that PGMA might try to use emergency powers to cling to her position if charter change is not successful. PGMA beyond 2010 is not acceptable for the majority of us filipinos. Happy Mylotting

Hi to you my kababayan, good day to you my friend. Well regarding to your forum topic discussion entitled "do you still want arroyo's regime post 2010". Well for me, i do not want arroyo to be our President for 2010 because as we can see. The performamce of our President is really poor and as we can see always in the News of television there is so many scammed in the Funds of Philippine Nation. I will site some example of that scam in the funds of our country. First is the ZTE broad band deal which our country was scammed with that transaction and the last i think was the fertilizer scam funds. I always see all this isue in the news television. Well that's all my reason wiy i think arroyo do not deserved to be our president this coming election for the year 2010. By the way i would like to share my opinion about the new president for 2010 because he is so very popular in politics. But i think that will happen if he have a plan to run for the election of 2010. Well that's all ! Mabuhay! ! ! Good luck to our earning career!

this is the worst administration in the history of philippine politics. who is involved in corruption and controversies no less than the first gentleman himself. Every agencies has their own way of committing corruption. I mean, i dont know any agencies who was not involved to controversies or the likes. whoever will be the successor of this administration well just hope for lesser evil. THe way things are going in our country is getting worse and i hope the next administration i hope wont be as worse as the present. Arroyo should go and please for crying out loud.. no more extensions for her!

Corruption has brought Philippines into its downfall. I'm wondering if this can still be solved. There's corruption practically anywhere even by the smallest high school class treasurer. Can't blame the kids for learning the trend too.

If she will keep the peso down and dollar, i would seriously think of mylotting every second. Lol! On a serious note, i think the people power will push through again should she stay on her post after 2010. Right now maybe people are still patient that they can still afford to wait before the election when it's time for her to step down.

LOL! It's always about money for you modstar. I voted for PGMA last 2004 because I knew she was good despite the questionable legitimacy of her presidency. But now, with all the issues against, I think I made a mistake. Anyway, even if i didn't vote for her, she still would have won by cheating.

She already violated democracy when intervined in electoral process, when the hello garci scandal came out. She clearly did everything to cover it up. Cheating to win on election is not just an violation to democracy but also a crime to the people. She doesn't deserve to stay or even be our president. GOD help the people, if she and her allies did succeed on their plan to put her in power beyond 2010.
