For school going students, their school bags is so heavy these days, Ans the work load also increase for them. The competition in studies is so tough these days. During exams they have no time to play and other activities. What do you think about this. Is it right for the new generation?

my daughters are still in the public school system - one is in highschool and one in junior high and their backpacks are always so heavy! they are forced to bring home a ton of stuff to work on at night. i remember when i was in jr high and highschool and only had to bring home a couple of books each night.

I think they don't need to carry bags now, actually in my age the bag is the heaviest! We walk to the school and carry the bags all the times, but now ,they can leave there things in school or there parents will pick them up and carry the bags for them! But maybe it is the same, the new generation still sufer the same things that we went through, hope there would a change in the future!

this is very true my friend.....i passed out my school last year and this year i can see my body growing more and faster, till last year my bag's load was enough to not let my body grow. the competition in studies has also reached a very high level, and all the parents want that their child gets the highest. if everyone will get highest marks then what will be positions for be. children want all round growth not just the mental growth, they don't understand this and tell their children to sit at home and study no going out no anything just study study and study. this is all wrong going on with today's generation and everyone should try to understand this.

i agree with you that school bags are getting heavier these days. Schools are becoming much more demanding in school requirements. for example i am enrolled in a high school in michigan and people can no longer graduate early if they have hope of getting into what they call a "decent" college. If you want to get into a good college these days then you have to do four years of every subject including one foreign language. So the result is that kids have less and less time to be kids and have fun. I think that this is going to turn out to be a real problem for the future generations.

i would say it's about the same. when i was in junior high,my backpack weighed 20 pounds full (i did put it on the scale) the strap broke once..but now most of these kids i see have travel luggage on wheels instead of a backpack,so it shouldn't be a problem for them.

i just don't think, I'M SURE that bags today are a lot heavier compared to that of the previous generations. i hate how we students have to carry a REALLY heavy load for school. until know, i still doubt if the objective is still to cope and catch up with the rapid changes in the world or to earn more money by requiring students to buy uniform notebooks and books from the school!

In our country, younger students have a heavier bags but when they age, their bags starts to get small and some even goes to school without their bags. I think new generation deserves to have a lot of activity during their young age because it will give them wisdom when they grow.

We are facing the problem that big countries are facing, competition or greed for more power. Student life is same, very competitive and necessitates major efforts to overcome others so as to end up with a good status in the job market. For me students bag tend to be lighter as now with classes equipped with IT, only a laptop and internet connection is enough for learning. But it is true that nowadays student have to learn more. Students must have a balance, they must study altogether keeping free time to enjoy. If you do not enjoy or meet your peer, it will be difficult to socialize. Education alone is not sufficient nowadays, one must be able to live in a society.

True. During my elementary days, I would only carry around 3 to 5 books and 5 notebooks in my school bag, the lessons were not really that tough and we still have sufficient free time to go out and play, rest or have hobbies. But now, comparing it with my little brother's, it's way out of comparison. He carries a very heavy school bag, like 15 kilograms or something and it contains 7 books or one book per subject and a 100 page notebook for each subject, and some of the books are two times thicker than my books before! And sometimes, I would find him sleeping on our study table at home due to weariness and I would even help him out in most of his projects and assignments because the workload is much too heavy for him to bear. I really don't think that this is right.=(
