Yes for me education is still an important part in live. Sure nowadays people can get a job without proper education but its not gonna get them very far from the ground. For example, my current job doesnt actually require an accounting degree - basically anyone that knows how to follow instruction would be able to do this job, BUT those with an accounting knowledge would be able to do the job better and properly and in an efficient manner. I think we study not only to gain more knowledge but also to challenge our brain and train our brain to think in better ways, to think far ahead, to think clearer and more efficiently. There are differences in how an educated person think and a non educated person think when facing the same problem.

I can either get a job making $300 a week running a cash register, or I can go to school and make $40,000 my first year teaching, with a raise every year and for every additional degree. The cash register does not have insurance, and teaching does not pay overtime. I have family that does not care about education, they will never make any more money or have nice things, or be able to take a real vacation. I on the other hand will be helping them pay their bills until they die. education is very important.

I live in the south central United States, and to be honest with you with the way our economy is acting right now, I think that education is the only thing that is going to pull us through.

Education has its utmost important anywhere in the world. Now that we are experiencing a turbulent time, a lot of people are being taken off work, the people who have the skills and knowledge, most of the time learned through education/academe, are the ones left in the workforce. We have options, i would agree, but it will take time compared to someone who started a good educational foundation. Good day!

Our Anthropology teacher told us, in a third world country education is not important because people there tend to work than to study. Well, for me, it is very important! [; By studying we learn things, discover new things, and knowledge is the only thing that nobody can steal away from us.

hi there!just want to respond on your comment with regards to the importance of education in a third world country. i am from philippines, considered third world.....it is equally important here to earn a good education, if possible, in a good university too, as it is important in the first to second world countries. here in philippines, it is hard to land in a decent-paying job, one must have the education, the ability and the experience. but most of the people here doesn't have the luxury to get a good education, some would only reach like 30% elementary graduate, 50% highschool graduate, and the remaining 20% are those only fortunate who has the capabilities and/or money to pursue college education, but not all will graduate not all can sustain till the end. the less fortunate can also land to a job but they will have to labour more because they are on the lower part of the organization, on top of that they are the one that gets the lowest salary.... they don't have a choice but to accept that fact and try to be a better worker that they can to earn more, at least if they are determined enough to improve the quality of life they have, they still have to pursue education inspite of the circumstances. my point here is it is equally important no matter what country your into, if you want to be on the upper part of the organization or you want to earn more than you want to spend you have to get a decent education so that you can land to a better paying job. by the way education doesn't end up into learning, discovering and all that.....it is more of how will you use all the learning that you earned in your life.....

u cannot take any loan without your proper education...my concern is to say that...education will always help u somewhere, i m agree that more people now a days can land a job without proper education, but they cann9ot gain a proper life style, if u dont have a proper education, u cannot give a better path to your child,so being a educated person, u will always be a successful in your life and your thought will be superior as compared to less educated people...

I guess it is although it is not imperative that you get a good one because in the end it is your skills and your ability to perform the job given to you that really matters. But getting a good education would give you a better chance to enhance your skills and develop them.
