Praying Scripture....

When you pray, do you pray God's word? Do you pray scriptures that speak God's thoughts and His will? I have been learning about the power of praying scripture, and I'm convinced that my prayer life has been missing something, without scriptures being a part of my praying. Are you an intercessor and what is your experience with praying scripture?

I have prayed scripture for many years, it makes me certain that I am praying His will! There is also a sense of closeness to the Initial utterer of the words.

That's where I was going with this discussion question. You summed it up very well. I have Prayers that avail much by Germaine Copeland, leather bound edition and I am happy to own it. It's quite a help in that it has gathered up related scripture and formed great prayers for specific concerns using scripture in the prayers.
Although we are not to pray by repetition, the fact that the verses are a tool means it's not a problem. Other words can be prayed too, not just ones on the page. It's not about legalism because I'm not into legalism. I just like the fact that the word is His will and I know I am praying effective prayers when I pray His will. Scripture is new, fresh every time, sharper than a 2-edged sword.

I think that we should definitely understand what our scriptures tells us, but we should pray from the heart. God doesnt want us to recite what he wrote he wants us to speak from our hearts. So just pray from your heart and he will understand.
