I got a call from my doctors office today. I got tested last friday for thyroid. I am glad to say that my thyroid is normal, thank god. My mother in law scared me because she told me that I might have issues with my thyroid. I guess now I still don't have an explaination for my symptoms. My husband said that the weight gain is a result of the cheesecake syndrome.. tsk tsk tsk. Oh well. Has anyone else had a scare like this were someone told u had a problem that was scary to you and got you all freaked out and then you find it was nothing?

My symptoms were abnormal weight gain. I think this last year I gained so much weight. Also I have been depressed. Not clincially or anything but I know that I have been extremely unhappy. And I am always tired. I feel drained all hours of the day, even if I drink coffee. And I had linked it to flouride since many say that flouride causes thyroid complications. I went to the dentist and asked them to put flouride in my mouth. The one they use is different then one that I normally would get. They paint it on your teeth and you can brush it off for 6 hours. Well while you eat and stuff you tend to swallow some of the flouride.. ew. so I assumed that might have had something to do with it as well.

Thank you for sharing you experience. I am sorry to hear that you have thyroid problem. I was scared that I had it and was worried because I am not good at keeping up with medication. I am glad they caught it early as well. I didn't realize that the thyroid could be so dangerous. I guess because I didn't know anything about it until recently I didn't know what it could cause and serious it is. Take care!

hi AMOORA04 :)
i also had my laboratory tests during highschool until i got pregnant, thank God it's normal i used to have an elevated thyroid it's quiet obvious but everytime i have my check ups the results are negative. I already told my doctors that it's only elevated but after all the lab tests it's a relief feeling that am telling the truth and based on previous exams it's all negative.. don't mind your MIL i think she's just concern... after all it turned out ok and nothing to worry about.. proven that there's no problem regarding your thyroid. ;)

Thank you for sharing your experience. I only went to the doctor because of my period dissappearing. And then my mother in law added what she thought it was. I didn't really start beliving that maybe it could be it until the doctor suggested that it might be due to to thyroid complications. But thank god all is well and I could go on with life not worrying about it. Now I got to figure out what caused the no period. take care
