I woke up to add wood to the fire and couldn't go back to sleep so I came here instead. My youngest cat, Simba, seems to think I should be in bed snuggling with him under the covers. He tried telling me but I ignored him so he jumped up on the desk and wouldn't leave. I had to pick him up, carry him to the bed and snuggle with him till he went to sleep. He paws were like icicles. He was cold and wanted me to warm him up.

Hi gabs, Yeah, poor Gissi looks like he would want to snuggle even more when he's cold. I love when animals want to do that. Wish Tigger would snuggle with me but he's not one to do that in bed but will cuddle in my arms if I'm sitting down.((((Huggles)))) for you and Gissi

Awww your little guy wanted his mommy to warm him up. He did everything he could to get your attention. Aren't cats neat? How many do you have? We had to have our cat put to sleep last month. It was an awful experience. She was only 13 and really hadn't been sick. I think of her so often and do miss her. She was so close with me. She had her own bedroom with her food dishes and litterbox in the room along with a cozy bed I bought her. The room was right upstairs with the other bedrooms.

This was the first time we owned a cat. I am dealing with her loss better than I expected. Takes time but also I knew she was beyond help. She had a tumor on her neck. The vet tried to remove it but the cat went into cardiac arrest. The vet revived her and she lived for almost 3 more years. The cancer went into her lung and there wasn't anything anyone could do. The vet tried steriods and vitamins to extend her life. She was miserable. Couldn't eat or drink and I couldn't stand it beyond a few days. Wasn't right to do this to the cat I loved so much. It was time.

Well, right now he's under dad's shirt sleeping. lol I have 3 cats. Lil' Bear, Tigger, and Simba. Tigg and Sim are the ones in my avatar. I've had to put several special pets to sleep in my lifetime so far. The last being my 11yr. cat, Lightning. I sure miss his purring me to sleep at night. The pain will ease up as time goes by but you never forget a special friend.

Cats are smart. My cat doen't like when I move in my bed. She is alret and wants to take the best spot, usually on the top of my chest....
Yes, your cat used very good language...

Anywhere on me is the best spot for Simba. lol If we are reclined in the recliner, his fave spot is on your lap or between your legs on the foot rest. If you move, you get a claw sunk into your skin or a small bite. I'm pretty good at reading body language but what Simba displayed I think anyone can figure out...'Get off the computer and give me 100% attention.'They are too smart for their own good at times.

We warm each other up, actually, because he will either lay right on top of us ro pressed next to us under the covers.

Aww, how sweet. My little kitty is just the same way. She just won't take no for an answer, she has to sleep on me and be in my lap at all times.

He tried my lap but he kept sliding off. lol He wanted mom to go to bed so he can lay on top of me under covers. Cats sure can be stubborn when they really want something.

How sweet!
My kitty is the same way. Though, she is very vocal, so she will vocally tell me I need to get back to bed. She will even come and tell me it is time for bed. She will get a bit cranky if I don't go to bed at a certain time.
I am lucky that she likes to sleep, so she does not wake me up in the morning. I probably wake her up, by moving. :o)

I bet if you could really understand her, she would be saying not-so-nice words when you don't go to bed at the certain time. lol I have a very vocal cat as well. Tigger talks to me all the time. People think it's funny how we hold a conversation.

haha my cat does the sae thing sometimes, but not all the time. right now she is hiding and i honestly have no idea where she is. She likes to walk up my body while i sleep and wait until i wake up and then she will run away. silly cat.

Maybe she thinks you are going to punish her for waking you up. Who knows why cats do the things they do.

Awww--kitties are no dopes,....they know how to get warm and that usually means begging their "moms" to get to bed. Right now my Pyewacket is snoozing on my bed...Kissy is walking around thinking of "something" to do....LOL..ah, she just went into the kitchen to eat some more. I never recall my two kitties sleeping on my bed so much prior to getting my new one. The moment I get snuggled into bed, the two hop on my bed (if they aren't already on it)---and Pyewacket takes his customary spot right along side me

Or dads. lol Right now Simba is under the covers and on top of daddy. I'm going to be heading to bed myself soon enough. Head hurts and suspect my bp is up which isn't good.

When I lived with my inlaws (eons ago, it feels like, but only 28 years), their only source of heat was the three wood stoves in the house, one of which was used to cook. It would get SOOOOO cold in there during the night!!! If you had to go potty, you'd best be bundled up thoroughly - not that it saved you from the rude awakening of the porcelain throne. I could never figure out how to start the fires properly except in the old cook stove. I smoked up the house one day - fortunately, my mother was there awaiting the birth of her first grandchild, and knew what to do. My cat slept with me as well - he would not get up with me during the night - he knew where his warmth was and he stayed there among the five quilts I used to keep warm in my unheated bedroom!!!

Our house is set at a constant 60 degrees which is pretty cold at night when you have to get up to go to the bathroom. On the really cold nights, all three cats are on the bed to stay warm but Simba is the only one who will be under the covers with us. When I have the fire roaring, Tigger and Simba will lay in front of it either on the hearth or right in front of it since it gets very warm there.

Hi blackbriar! That's a cat for you! My cats are just like that!
If they want me to do something they are relentless! My cat Luna
will whine and scream if he wants to sit on my lap while I'm
mylotting! If I won't let him sit on my lap he will just continue
to yell and paw me until he gets his way! My other cat, his brother
Star has a different approach! He will keep jumping up and walking
in front of the computer screen until I let him sit on my lap!
He won't make a sound, but he will just keep getting up and going
back and standing in front of the screen each time I put him on
the floor! They know what they want!

lol too funny! My cat Tigger likes to lay on the chair right behind me while I'm on the computer. He will jump up onto the back of the chair and just kinda 'fall' back onto my shoulders and neck and lay there purring till I scoot forward and sit on the front edge of the chair, causing him to plop down and getting his way in the process. lol My cats rarely jump onto my desk and block the screen unless they really want something really really bad and immediately.

Wow, Simba is a smart cat Simba knows what he wants and knows how to get what he wants.
Pets are great to have and they are good company. I need a pet but can't afford one now. I am jobless I have the time to take care of one but now I am not financially able. It is a case of got the time but not the money. I guess I can't have it both ways. I do believe a cat will be much cheaper than a dog.

He's smart but can also play dumb when he wants to. We have 3 cats and 1 dog with hubby out of work. Not easy but I'm not going to give up my furbabies. Depending on the size of dog you get, it could be cheaper than having a cat.
