I read posts all the time about people looking for purebred dogs. I was wondering this....Why dont more people check their local animal pound? There are purebred dogs there that they will put to sleep if nobody adopts them! I have adopted 3 dogs from the pound and they are great dogs and are great with my kids. Let me know what your thoughts are on this subject....

I agree with you 100% I am a dog lover myself and I have a rescue dog who we adopted a couple of years ago. She is a great dog. I think that people should rescue/adopt a dog from their local shelter instead of going out and purchasing a dog when there are plenty of dogs and cats as well that need a loving home. I plan to adopt more dogs from my local shelter in the years to come.

yes very great idea!
i've always said that. the smartest sweetest dog i ever had was from there. had to have him put to sleep because of age and many different problems. cried for 3 days and still do sometimes.

I agree that people should check out the pound before buying pure breeds. Every dog that I've had I've adopted and they are wonderful.
