I know this subject has been brought up before, but I haven't seen it in a while and I'd like the opinions of all you guys, especially the newbies who likely haven't answered a similar discussion.
What is your take on Capital Punishment?
Do you think it is right or not? Maybe in extenuating circumstances?
Why or why not?
What methods do you think should be used?
Are you satisfied spending your tax dollars to feed, clothe, and house people who have slaughtered others?
My take on this...
I believe in capital punishment, but I believe it should be done in the cheapest humane way possible.
Well, that's not entirely true. Deep down I think they should die the way they killed, but that's just not practical. It would waste just as many tax dollars as jailing them. However, if it were possible that is what they truly deserve. If they poured oil on someone and lit it, leaving them to slowly burn to death, why should they be blessed with lethal injection?
However, as I said, not practical.
I do believe that people who are convicted of heinous crimes, such as rape, especially repeat offenders, and definitely murderers, are a waste of our tax dollars to keep alive. They void their own human rights the very second they violate those of another human being.
I realize there are sometimes people who are wrongly convicted, but there should be a law that allows those left behind to file a law suit if this is the case, encouraging investigators to be more thorough. If necessary, let the money used to house these criminals be partially put toward improving investigations and researching new investigative technologies. Then put the rest into other more important things like education, healthcare, welfare, etc.
And what's with 20 or more years on death row? They're getting as good as life there too. I know it don't take 20 years to process all the junk and red tape required to give them DP.
If I commited such a heinous crime, and I never would, but if I did, I would expect to be put to death. Those criminals deserve nothing less!
Okay, now I want to hear everyone else's take. Please do not be nasty as we all have our own opinion on this and there is no need for biggotry. Share your views with us. Also, tell us where you are from and if Capital Punishment, Life Imprisonment, and Death Row exist in your country. If you have capital punishment, what form is it? Lethal injection? Electric chair? Hanging? Share with the world!

i am all for it, if there is no doubts that a person is gaulity send them up to the front of the line, if someone kills someone because drinking and driving send them up to the front as well. and if anyone hurts any kids either by raping them sorry you get in front of everyone no matter what.
because if there was captial punishment we would have more room in the jails for those who commit less serouis crimes. you hear all the time they had to let this person out early because lack of room in the jails. either it's someone who abuse a kid, or even worst rape one. they go right back out to do it all over again.
and i blame these christians people who cries well we must forgive them poor people who commited the crime they can be saved. no they can't why have them sit in jail for the rest of thier life and belive it or not and get paid for it. send their sorry behind to the chair, or the firing line.
but you hear we must feel sorry for those people, hello how about the ones who they killed or the family, we must forgive them. no i don't. forgive them once they die.
now if something happen to someone in thier family it's another story.
but if we bring back captial punchmnet to every state then these people might think before they pull the tiger or rape a chrildren because of fear of being sent to the front of the line.

yeah i can understand that. but if they brought it back be so much more rooms in the jail for other things instead having to let them out early.
but in nevda they have a place call camp city and jail in the desert. the guy who runs it is awsome he tell them well you aren't here to be comfortable.
