Do you have someone who just terrifies you? Without meaning to?

I've got a sister-in-law who's just the sweetest woman. She really is. But I will NEVER get in a car with her again.
If she's driving, and you start talking, she has to look at you. Still driving. I immediately shut up. But she loves to talk. She also has to look AT you, while driving. This is terrifying on many levels. Cause she really never stops talking! (I love her, but it's still true)
I had to gently remind her she was crossing the road, she'd glance out and get back in her lane, then look at me and continue talking. It was the LONGEST 2 miles of my life. Thank heavens it was on gravel for 1 1/2 miles. I offered to drive, but she reassured me she was fine. (I sure wasn't!!)
How about you? Any horror tales?

My mother. She still scares me. Always has and always will. For such a LADY, she can make you feel one inch tall and begging for a pat on the head. I don't know how she does it. It's a lost art. Most of the time when I talk to her I just want to reach out and slap someone, but she's my mother, you know? I have to respect her but hells, bells, I'll always be afraid of her! And I do love her...........

I see this going on all the time. lol. I don't think there's much to worry about because those who do it usually have one eye on the road anyway, and I'm sure they're used to driving in that manner... I hope so anyway! lol.
I don't have any experiences to tell you about, my friend. Oh, I've had my moments, but they're usually forgotten once I climb out of the car.
Brightest Blessings.

Unfortunately, she doesn't. She had 3 traffic tickets against her. For running into parked cars... (I didn't believe that when her sisters told me that. Now I do!)

My aunt (deceased now) was a terror, it wasn't that I was afraid to ride with her it was that I didn't want her to ride with me. Unless she was in the back seat. I remember when I was learning to drive and she was well sort of coaching me. We would be on a long country road with hardly any traffic. She would tell me to speed up I was going to slow. If I didn't speed up she would reach over with her foot press my foot with her foot on the gas pedal and hold it there. Once she did this and I was meeting another car head on and I panic. I could not turn the steering wheel to get the car back on my side of the road. She had to reach over and turn the steering wheel. After that I never got behind the wheel with her in a car with me again.

Oh man, that would have been terrifying!!! That's insane, to use her foot to press yours down! I'm a timid sort of person, but I probably would have gotten out and started screaming at her!! I'm not a nice person when someone scares me like that, I tend to turn into a monster!

My friends uncle gave us a lift into town a few years ago never again. He drove without looking at the road ,we were tooted up and shouted at all the way, when we got into town he turned the wrong way down the busiest feeder road into the town centre and caused a traffic jam miles long,it was awful he was a lovely man but could not concentrate on the road,we sat in deep embarrasment while he shouted at all the annoyed people in the jam about being rude to him because he only went the wrong way and made a small mistake and to be more patient.

I usually drive myself. But in big cities, I'd rather ride with someone else. I don't cope well with lots of traffic. It is scary, riding with others sometimes.

Hi amd hello to you my co-mylotters,especially to all my friends here in this site that was very busy making response in many interesting discussion in this site mylot. Well regarding to your forum topic discussion entitled " do you have someone who just terrifies you? With out meaning to?". Me i also encounter that with my professor every time i see him and i encounter him in our room or inside the school even in the outside of the school. I always feel scared and it really terrifies me a lot which makes my hair get up and my heart beat going faster and faster like running for about 1 kilometer. May be because that happen for the reason in other life i already meet him and we have an encounter a bad thing, that's why i feel scared with someone. . . NORMALLY, I like to drive. Once, however, I had gotten injured and was letting someone else drive - it was WAY over a couple of miles and at least twice we had to tell her to get back in her own lane! She was WAY over in the on coming traffic's lane - at least there wasn't any traffic!
NEVER again!

My dad's driving is pretty crazy but not quite terrifying enough for me to refuse to get in the car with him. I'd rather do the driving though. For one thing the vision in his left eye isn't that great and for another he's a speed demon!

I actually used to someone just like that. She was my brother in law's fiancee, they never got married, and have not been together for many years, but they lived together fo 7 years, so it was kind of like she was my sister in law, and I liked her very much. However, I rode in a car with her where she was driving a couple of times. First off she drove really fast, and she consistently cut people off. Literally pulled out in front of people. Then yelled at those people and gave them the finger, she actually thought they were to blame, but it was her pulling out in front of them every single time. It was quite scary.

Yes I do, my sister in law, she is a terrible driver, but has strong guardian angels
for she's never been hit. I just want to get in the curled position and close my eyes when i have to drive with her. Most of the time I can drive instead.

I did just that when I went with a friend to Chicago. All those cars, going really fast, bumper to bumper traffic, I was terrified!!! I'm glad she knew what she was doing, cause I just sank down till I couldn't see out anymore!!! I'm glad she was driving! We'd have been in an accident for sure if I'd been.

Yes and that is my aunt.. she's pretty scary.. she tends to be grouchy at times.. she tends to be pretty strict, etc.. i don't know what's wrong with her or what her problems are but i just can't stand her attitude sometimes.. she's in her late 40's and she isn't married yet.. maybe that's one of the reasons why she's acting that way.. yay!

yeah my little brother scares the freak'n poo out of me when he drives. He rides on people's rears without breaking, until the last second, just before we are about to smash into them, and he doesn't look where he's driving. He turns his head completely to the side when changing lanes , and looks behind him to see if any traffic is coming, while at the same time going foward faster and faster. And he doesn't use the brakes or even slow down around curves. Everytime I ride with him i'm holding on, and doing the imaginary brake thing. Just praying oh please let me survive this. And he always goes more places then what he originally told you. You think you're just going to the store. No you're going to every losers house he knows all over the frikin state.

When I was about 26 I terrified a friend of mine on the freeway (highway). We were driving back from Miami Beach to Boca Raton (about an hour driving the speed limit). I was doing between 95 and 115 MPH weaving through traffic. Plus we had been partying all day - which was stupid on my part, but thankfully we made it home without incident. He was so P.Od at me that he still won't get in a car that I'm driving!
As far as someone terrifying me, it was this girl I used to work with. We actually traveled to France together for business and she's one of those people who's nose whistles but refuses to take a tissue and dislodge the offending obstruction. She just carries on with that annoying little "weeee" every time she inhales. And it's an ongoing problem for her. Just knowing what it is that's causing the high-pitched note makes it that much worse - and gross! She's also one of those people who has to look at you every time something funny happens in a show. Honestly, I want to choke people like that. They played episodes of Frasier on the plane and literally after every line she would turn to me with this big stupid grin and then laugh and snort. And if I didn't return the comedy induced gaze, she would strike my shoulder to get my attention. Finally she fell asleep 4 hours into the flight...but then I had to listen to her nose.
Ever see Airplane the movie? Remember when that dude was listening to Ted tell his boring story? He soaked himself with gasoline and took out a match to set himself on fire! That's all I kept picturing...only I was setting HER on fire and NOT myself! LOL!

Such a funny guy!!! Weren't you worried that the obstruction would fly out while she was snorting at you? Ewww, such a gross thought. I think I have to leave and be slightly ill now... Ick! We are NOT going to talk about this anymore.. .
