Okay I have two dogs who insist on waking you up in the morning. I just wondering if anyone else has the same issue with their dogs. Its annoying at times especially on weekend but its also cute. These are the first set of dogs we have had that ever did that. I just curious if anyone else here has the same issue.

Haha! My boyfriend and I love to sleep in! He has to be at work at 9 am, so he wakes up as close to 9 am as he possibly can. I work from home, so I usually sleep in till 10 am.
Several months ago we adopted a dog from a rescue organization. She was living in a foster home before we adopted her. Her foster dad would run with her at 6 am every morning. So when we first got her, she was used to getting up bright and early, so she would wake us up really early wanting to go out in the mornings. But now that she's been with us for awhile, she's adjusted and is running on our schedules now! So she sleeps in with us now and gets up whenever we do!

When we brought my border collie mix home when he was a puppy, he woke me up the next morning by just barking at me from his cage that we had in my room at the time. apparently the family that had him had him on this type of routine. We were never fully able to break him of the habit but he does it later than he did then the first morning after bringing him home.

My dogs do too. It seems like they know how to tell time too. Mine do not give up and they don't stop until you are up.

HI. Yes I have 2 dogs, and it never fails 5 in the morning there they are looking at me wanting to go out. The one actually would scratch my head, or pull my hair to get me up, the other one will sit and look at me. But they have to go out and do there jobs, then they come in and go back to sleep. I cannot once I am up its hard for me to go back to sleep.

Mine do it about 7am every morning. Our Shepard mix will start crying but after a while our border collie mix starts in helping so the house is pretty loud until everyone is up. They do not give up either. I've had other dogs before, but these are the first ones that actually make sure you are up in the morning.

Oh yeah, they have no problem waking me up. I have two Shih-Tzus Patches and Ringo. Patches will cuddle up and nudge me with his nose when he needs to go out. He is gentle and silent, but persistent. He will keep nudging me until I get up. Ringo is not as patient. He will get right up in my face and sneeze! It's probably more like a snort but its gross. However, he knows it gets me up. I might scold him for it, but he knows that no matter what I will open the door to let him out. Sigh, when did they get so smart?

It seems every set of dogs I get, they do seem to get smarter. They just know what works though.

I have 2 dogs and a cat...
My cat normally sleeps on my bed all day and night, only getting up for food...
My dogs on the other hand a serious trouble makers..
i find thou that when they wake me up early in the morning, its means that they want to go outside. so ill get up and let them out for 10 mins then bring them back in and go back to bed, they normally don't bother me after that :)

My dog is always kind in not waking me up in the morning. She only ever wakes me if she has to be let out into her dog pen to do her 'thing.' I think it's funny how she wakes me up...she doesn't bark, or jerk at the covers, she just gets her face really close to mine and breathes. When I finally wake up, I'm staring right into her eyes lol.

i have a 1 and a half ur old boxer brindle. my bf works over nights, and i work days. the dog lets me sleep a lil before my bf gets home but he lets the dog out then climbs into bed, bout and hr or 2 later im on the couch sleeping, cuz the dog will put hims front paws on my side by or on my face so i have to get up. but if i lay down on the couch, he just lays down and lets me sleep. i dont like haveing to sleep on the couch, my bf and i work different shifts and we work alot, we like to have time to lay down and cuddle. today i stayed up till 7am when my bf got home. we were in bed ready to sleep at 9... the dog woke me up at 9:50. i had to put him in the basment, cuz i usualy have to be up for work by the time he gets home, and im in bed while hes at work. so days i work later and days i have off, i would like to be able to cuddle a lil bit. any advice on how to get my dog to stop jumping on me.

Lately my dog, Yafa, has been waking me up. She is ill and just wants to go out to pee early in the morning. It's no big deal. I get up and let her out. Fortunately I have a yard so she can pee and scratch on the door when she wants back in. I get up at 7:30 this month and usually she can wait until then, but not always. Next month I might get to sleep more and then it will be a royal pain to get up earlier than I want.

My dog would only wake me up if he had to go outside. And really, I wanted my dog to wake me up in that case. He was pretty considerate most of the time. Even when he had to go, he would sit near the foot of my bed just watching me. When things started to get more urgent he would cry a little. If he saw that I was waking up he would come over to me and "encourage" me to get moving.

That is Rambo's specialty. Every morning, no matter how hard I try to sleep in, Rambo constantly barks and jumps on me, but I have a nail grinder now, so no more clawing me when he jumps... LOL! I can never sleep in... because once I'm awake, I cannot get back to sleep at all. And of course, he acts like he hasn't seen me in like five thousand years. He's just the strangest dog I've met, none of my other dogs had done it. I guess they're an inside version of a rooster, dawn sets in, time for you to wake up... haha.

My dog wakes me up which can be very annoying. First he is a little old and his breathe isnt quite the most appealing smell in the morning. Plus he has a creepy way of sitting there staring at me while I sleep. Plus we constantly battle each other for the blankets. Who knew a chihuahua could be such a successful blanket hog.

I have one dog that insists that he go out and do his bussines at 6:30 in the morning. we have let him out at midnight and he still wants out at 6:30. its cute I guess, sometimes I get beck to sleep other times I have to be up any way. our other dog sleeps with us and she rearly wakes us up, it is generaly us that wakes her up. But when she has decided to get up that is the end of it we all have to get up and give her attention.

Yeah, I have a sausage dog who went thru a phase of waking up at 2 a.m every morning wanting the toilet. When he was outside, he didnt want to come back in which was obviously annoying when I had to get up a few hours later to go to work!!
I think it's really cute when he wakes me up in the morning tho, he always looks so happy and cute.

Yes, as my husband would say, he's got me trained. LOL
Right at 7:00 AM he would bark a certain bark to go do his thing outside. So if I don't want any accidents, I better get my butt up and let him out. No matter how late we stay up and even if he just went 2 hours ago, he will still need to go at his time.

my dog doesn't wake me up in the morning--in fact, he sleeps in til about 10a! he does wake me up in the middle of the night though, to go potty...then gets right back in bed and steals all the covers!
