people in pain

are you in pain? is someone you know hurting? is it contagious as i believe? i have found that "hurting people hurt people" as joyce meyers says. am i alone in this observation? i am closely connected to someone in great mental anguish and they are proceeding to destroy all in their path. is this normal, as i suspect, or am i merely an enabler trying to justify my martyr ways?

If a person is hurting or upset, it is one thing. When they take out their anger and distress on another, that is completely different.
Some people are psychic vampires, sucking the energy from the good. Do not let yourself become a victim.
We can help people without enabling their destructive habits.
